hi the first time i tried atkins i lasted till the evening of the first day, because i felt weak and shakey. Im on day two now and feel fine, possibly had a slight headache yesterday.
Ive heard that it is normal, r u taking any supplements, maybe a multivitamin would help, i took one yesterday, which is maybe what helped me.

        Hi,

I am on day 2 as well and have had a terrible headache since yesterday. My tummy felt yucky yesterday but seems better today. Not much energy yet, but then I never had energy eating the other way either. Hope it passes quickly for both of us!

I feel the same way....headache,tired and food seems kinda repulsive right now...I'm usually really hungry in the morning, but I don't even want a beverage. I had to force feed myself dinner last night....

I hope it passes for us soon! :yes

Am also struggling with the food!

I find the food pretty grim and as my job is very intense and i work long hours not only am i lacking in energy i do not have time to prepare anything of any value, plus to be honest as i don't eat either fish or cheese my options are limited.

I am going to stick to it though and am starting swimming this evening to try and improve my energy levels.

Head is not aching as much today although am not looking forward to any more meat and greens at dinner - for the first time in my life i have intense cravings for crunchy nut cornflakes!!!

This is fondly called the 'Induction Flu' :yes and we all go through it to some degree. It's mentioned in the book, but it doesn't really go into it in much detail.
Our bodies go through withdrawal, like any addict, only our withdrawal is from sugars, caffiene and so on.
Some people will feel unwell for a day or two...some will have a minor headache, some will have full-on body aches and nausea.

Personally, my whole face hurt..as if I had sinus problems (which I didn't) and I felt like my legs were made of lead and I was tired tired tired! On day 7 I was still feeling like the dog's breakfast, but I knew this would pass, so I hung in there and sure enough by day 14 I felt right back to myself again.

So hang in there...keep it in your mind that this is temporary, and that this is a good thing that's happening...when you are physically rid of these addictions, you will be all that much stronger in the days and months ahead. :yes

Hang in there everyone. All this yucky feeling will soon pass, your bodies are just going through the withdrawal phase. I've been on this woe for almost 4 months now, and I have never felt better for years! Good luck, and just hang tight!!! :nod

                  Hang in there

I just went through that stage you're talking about....it will get better. I have no appetite right now and have to force myself to eat. I drink water all day and walk at night. You will feel more energized soon. :nod

Call it DETOX from sugar and starch. Yes it will pass. Rest up, take some pain reliever and within days you will be a new person! TRUST ME!

yep, totally normal, i had a really bad headache for my first 2-3 days, everything started getting better again after that, just try to think of it as a good pain, it's working

                            Great, thanks Laura. :icondance
I was also told that maybe it's because I quit cold turkey on caffine..

well that could be part of the reason...
but to be honest with you i never gave up my caffeine habit...*the horror the horror*, lol sorry, diet pop is my treat to myself. I probably should give it up but for now im not going to worry about it. So i did experience the headache even with the pop.
                              Taking advil helped me too.
