I've eaten them (but the morning start bars don't taste too good) and the regular bars during induction and I don't think it had an effect on my weight loss??? :confused

I lost 8 pounds during my first two weeks of induction and I didn't find eating them to be a problem (granted you should note that I weighed 137 (and I am 5'8'') when I started induction...

I guess what I am trying to say is that I do a lot of things that I guess I shouldn't do (I drink diet coke with splenda--it has caffeine in it and tons of Fruit H20) but I don't think its "the kiss of death" per se as eating pure sugar, bread, or any of the outlawed low carb foods...??? ensive

I always wonder when people post similar 'evidence' that eating the bars and other foods/drinks not 'on the list' just how much weight they might have lost if they hadnt ate them ensive
By the way - congrats on your loss on your version of induction - I am surprised that at 5'8" and 137 pounds you managed to lose any weight :clapping Did you exercise a lot?

But as you know we on ha are following DANDR 2002 and it does say there that if the ingredients of processed food are not on the list of acceptable foods we should not eat them till we have reached the appropriate rung of OWL.
I think the 'bars' often contain wheat or soy or nuts or fruit etc which are not on the list, so are not 'legal' on induction. We always suggest here that you cheack the ingredients with 'the list' and that if any ingredients are not allowed you should choose to leave that product till you are on the correct OWL rung.
There is lots of debate about whether to count or not count the carbs in sugar alcohol - check the various stickies to make you own decisions :hug
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

...I didn't exercise AT ALL...but I did walk about 2 miles a day (to and from school)...I think that cutting out pure sugar, breads, etc. was such a shock to my system that it blasted the weight off...Typically, I ONLY eat starchy, processed foods and little to no vegetables...unless they were coated in sauces....PLUS I am only 23...

I have soo much more energy now and the cravings for chips and bread are completely gone....

..And I am not sure, but I don't think that a comparatively "low" starting weight is a hindrance to weight loss on a low carb diet...celebrities (who are already unspeakably thin) go on them all the time before movie premieres and big events to drop weight fast...and in the new issue of Glamour Jessica Simpson even stated that she used Atkins to lose weight and then switched to South Beach because it offered a greater variety of food choices...

They stall me. I would stay away!!!
(They were good though on a long plane ride when I had to bring my own food OR buy airline food (high carb).
