  • At main goal...

When you hit your goal, is there one thing that you are going to do? A special trip? a new wardrobe (we'll all need that)? have a party?

I dont have one yet, so maybe everyone can give me some ideas.

Oh god, I hadn't even allowed myself to dream about it so thanks for bringing this up. Buy clothes, but I still have some really nice small clothes in boxes. A trip, yep, a party, yep. Maybe a professional makeover (make-up, hair, etc). I'm sure I'll think of more.

I've been thinking a lot about this lately, and I've finally settled on taking a "Trek Trip." www.trektravel.com

I used to bike a lot, and I wanted to do something that will celebrate my health rather than my looks, if that makes sense. I've been socking some money away for one of the European trips (Italy, most likely) and this really gives me something to look foward to.

Naturally, I intend to have new clothes as well, but since my size 18s are falling off of me already, I'm going to have to start acquiring them before I reach my ultimate goal. :yes

DH and I went on a cruise last year to celebrate 3 years of maintenance. Talk about EASY ... lots of great carb-friendly foods to choose from and an olympic jogging track to boot! I was in heaven!!

Next year's award? The Disneyworld Half Marathon!!

When I get to goal, Betty is going to send me some of her hand-me-downs because she's got such cool clothes!!!

Actually, I've not really had goal gifts as my motivation through all of this. Once in a while I'd get myself a little pair of earrings or something but just being able to walk into a regular sized store, and buy something off the rack has been it's own reward.

My friend is going to take me to Disneyland next year if I keep up with my thrice-weekly exercising, so I'm pretty geared up about that.

...and...lack of $$ is a big part of it too...lol...ah well...it's all good!

                    I second that Moochiecat :joy
I have never been a 'clothes-buying' person - well at size 30 you don't have much choice :sadblinky but now I can't keep out of the charity shops and have bought many tops and skirts for a few pounds!
Well no point paying lots for clothes now that will be too big in a few months, is there :yes But if I know I will be wearing them for longer (at goal for life) I won't mind splashing out!!
I may well celebrate goal by going into an expensive clothes shop with a credit card :joy
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I hadn't thought about treats for mini goals. That's a really good idea. I'm going to make a list of mini goal weights and treats for those. Any ideas for me? I have so many boxes of clothes that I won't be buying them for mini goals. And when I reach final goal I have no problem saying that I will be celebrating my looks shamelessly. :yes

A big goal for me is to take a trip to Australia as I have always love that place and would love to see the Great Barrier Reef since I am into the saltwater aquarium hobby.

Maybe be able to buy some new clothes down the road and take a trip to the South!~ Johnny :guns

That would be quite a trip Johnny. Do you have a target date (or month)?

In September 2007, I will turn 50 and my DH & I will celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary, we are going on a walking tour of Ireland! So everything I do, including my mini-treats are towards this goal. We will be with a group and we will have to be able to walk 10 miles a day and keep up! Right now, I can make it 4 miles.

So far, for mini-treats, I have gotten myself some walking poles when I lost 20 pounds and a pair of hiking sandals that can go in water when I lost 30 pounds.
