  • week4 induction flu? what gives?

Hi everyone. This coming Monday will be my 4 week mark on induction. I am doing well, losing inches everywhere and 17 lbs! I noticed this week that I really feel like CRAP! I am excessively tired and have been having major heart paliptations and lightheadedness constantly. Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm suffering from those symptoms too, but I think for me, its just because of living in constant A/C due to the heat outside....

I try not to think about the symptoms and just carry on my day..

I'm feeling the same way, usually first thing in the morning. I'm on my 6th week.

I was planning to ask all of you about vitamin supplements. I have not been good about taking them regularly, so I figured it was time to start. Any recommendations?

Do you think vitamins will help us out of our slump?

I had that too, right around that time period, it was terrible! Then, I started drinking more water, a gallon a day. One day, I woke up and was so filled with energy, I didn't know what to do with myself!

I haven't yet cheated on Atkins and I've been on it since February 22nd. I think the reason I haven't cheated is that I never want to experience that flu again, it was that bad!

Thank you! I had a feeling that more water might help. I'm refilling my glass as we speak!

This sometimes happen to me also. Do you eat out alot? I find that there's secret sugars in food we think is ok for induction when we go out alot. I eat lunch out everyday usually. I will sometimes get a headache and feel blah afterwards....then i remember what i ate and say nope cant have that no more. More water will help also.

I have been hypoglycemic for years and I am pretty keen to the feelings sugar ( or lack thereof) gives me, so in my instance I don't think it's sugar. I was just concerned about being so lightheaded, especially when I exert myself ( I am a scientist so I am sitting almost all day) like when I am wakling home, up and down the lab and at the gym. I have been going to the gym every day for 1.5 hours and this is a pretty new thing that I have experience over just the last 24 hours. The dizziness along w/ the tremendous heart palps scared me a little especially since I am eating so much fat.

You might want to get yourself checked over by a doctor - just have your b/p tested and maybe your bloods done? ha

It's probably nothing to worry about, just your body adjusting, but if its a change from the way your body normally behaves and it is persistent, it is well worth thinking about a trip to the docs :yes

I have to admit, it's been 5 weeks today for me with no cheating and I feel good sometimes. The rest of the time i just want to go home and lock my door. I am trying to exercise more. every other day I goto my moms to walk her dog. but for the most part I still feel like I have the 'flu'. But i realize I need to start upping my water + exercise.

I am ending my 7th wk and I also felt tired and crappy all week. Eyes red, lethargic, depressed. Today I feel better. I also had same symptoms the 1st wk I started Atkins. I guess it may a cycle we go thru.

I must admit that I do not drink as much water as I should. I have read that we are supposed to drink 1/2 of our body weight in ounces per day.
I will try that and see what happens. Hey, it's FREE anyway!

                        Hang in there guys!

The last time I did Atkins, I suddenly became BONE tired in the third or fourth week. It literally felt like the bone marrow was sucked out of my body.....I slept a lot more and was dragging all over. I upped my FAT and it went away.

doesn't upping your fat make you burn THAT fat you eat instead of body fat? I am already eating 70/30/5 fat/pro/carb
