Re: REALLY miss my Kraft Macaroni and Cheese

I melt 2 oz of cream cheese, with 1 oz of cheddar cheese....a tbsp of heavy cream...... melt it up. I pour it over a mixture of ground beef that I have chopped up.....and small pieces of cauliflour. Add a bit of seasoning.....and it tastes just like cheeseburger macaroni. Yummm

I love Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, I think it is a comfort food from childhood for a lot of women.

I have never liked it, but then I'm not a huge pasta fan to begin with. Now, since I'm not on Induction, I can have Dreamfields pasta on occasion, but I very rarely do. My husband bought tons of boxes on special in the States and they are just sitting there.

However, I don't have to give up pizza (thinking of the tombstone one lady has in her siggie ). I have several pizza recipes (all under 5 g carbs for a slice) and some are really low-carb like my deluxe omelet pizza at 1.6 g carbs per serving!

P.S. My sons just went camping the other day with 2 friends of theirs. The boys all had so much fun and they had to buy all their groceries beforehand. I stayed right out of the planning. Anyway, turns out they bought a few boxes of pasta and cheese sauce (similar to Kraft). They prepared it, but something went wrong. In disgust, they called it "prison slop" and each one of them vowed never to eat it again!

Fortunately, Macaroni & cheese, has never been a staple in my house. Maybe it's because we never had it when I was growing up. My parents were European immigrants, and all our meals were hearty and home cooked. I acquired a taste for pizza in my adult life. I make the wonderful pizza from the recipe section, and that satisfies my taste buds!
