Wendy is the best.. If you check out there website you'll see that the burgers (without the bun) are great.. Personally when im out I'll grab a plain triple cheeseburger and a side caeser.. You're only talking about 3.5 carbs and its a good size meal!Male, 29 y/o Chicago, IL

Good Choice!
Are all hamburgers at the fast food places 100% beef with no wheat fillers?? Because in the store when I look at them some of them have wheat...um..crumbs..I think...in them.Elsie150

We don't have a Sonic here. But we do have Wendy's, McDonald's, Burger King, Dairy Queen, A&W...are any of these other places safe?
Thanks for the info!Elsie150

Re: Wendy's Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers?
Yikes!
Okay, you are all probably okay in that stuff. Wendy's burgers w/o bun counts for atkins, but.................. Are we all not trying to move to a new way of eating? One of the reasons that we get over weight is that we feed ourselves with convenient foods.
I think it is a habit just like sugar. Fast food, in a pinch will get you through, but STOP going there.
Part of what makes this WOE work for me is that I have to think ahead. I plan how my day will go and make sure food is there. Relying on short stops is how we got to this point.
Stop going to drive trough fast food places and you will see your habits of eating improve!

Re: Wendy's Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers?
I agree, Dave! Still, Atkins is a diet for life, and part of life is occasionally being able to eat in a restaurant. Kno0wing which places are 'safe' in a McFat world we libve in is an advantage.
I agree that abuse of fast, prepared foods is a bad, bad thing. Still, many of us do occasionally end up going out for a burger. Might as well know which ones are safe and which possess the fillers.
I could be wrong. That's just my opinion.

I totally agree cleo.
Also I think that on occasion you don't have a chance to cook or work ahead, like when you are on the road for a few days and knowing what places you can safely go then is a must.41 year old female, lenght 5'5'' and a half

I also agree with you Dave, but I work on the road quite a bit. When I cant make it home for lunch, sometimes Wendy's is the place to go.. Out of all the fast food places, I just feel safest eating there.
And I have to admit, most of the time when the wife wants something fast food, (she's pregnant) I pick it up for her and make myself a salad at home. You have no idea how horrible it is to go to Panera Bread for her right before lunch.. hahaMale, 29 y/o Chicago, IL

Re: Wendy's Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers?
I have found that most fast food places are a safe bet. I love the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salads at McDonald's, and tend to use my own extra virgin olive oil as dressing when I get home. Also, Carl's Jr. has a great low-carb burger wrapped in lettuce; it reminds me of my ultimate favorite: In & Out Protein-Style! No fast food at all for me....I'd rather go hungry or stop and get
a small bag of peanuts. I know too many horror stories about
what goes on in fast food joints! Just my opinion...

I do have to agree with Dave on this one. There is always going to be a time when you do have to eat in a pinch, but knowing where you can eat helps.Originally posted by CalvinFishYikes!
