  • Poison on a plate.....

“Okay folks….are you trying to kill me? And yourselves?”

This is what I want to yell out to my co-workers today (and every few days). When I got to work this morning there was a huge box of Twinkies, sitting there, gleaming in their little crinkly plastic packaging, mocking me….yes, I think they actually laughed as I walked by….and then not 20 minutes after I arrived at work, a plate full of yummy looking cookies joined the evil Twinkies in a quest to derail me…

Why are they ALWAYS bringing in carb laden food….???????????

Okay and get this, the manager of the lady who has been with the company for 20 years, wants to “recognize” her on Friday, by doing what you ask? Giving her a plaque or flowers or a pin? No…………….he wants to bring in donuts and bagels!!!!! And informed us with this stupid little grin on his face like it was the best idea EVER…

    What a weenie….

I’m not going to cheat. This is the 5th day of my newest induction phase and I am down to 248 from 251 on Sat. I’m doing great and I’m NOT going to let that crap ruin my way of eating…so I’m calling it poison on a plate (to myself anyway) and am going to move it or ignore it. One or the other.

Stay strong today my fellow Atkineers, it is not easy out there!

Just eat a huge breakfast on friday. If I were in your situation, I'd be eating a huge plate of bacon in the morning or something. I know the only time I'm ever tempted to cheat is when I'm hungry.

This diet is a piece of cake (or rather, better than one!) because you lose weight and never have to go hungry!

I've stayed strong ALL Day. My shredded chicken and hardboiled eggs and hamburger and sugar-free jellp have kept me company.

The Twinkies are all gone (yeah) and there are like 2 gross looking cookies left on the plate. That is soooo hard for me, but I was prepared with my good food and my recent losses are VERY motivating!!!

Stay Strong everyone, it is worth it!

Twinkies are filled with snot. Didn't you know??

Good job on avoiding them without even knowing that gross little detail!

RationalBeing has great advice. Walk in declining any offers of food the next morning it happens. "Thanks, I just had a massive breakfast at IHOP!" On Atkins, you're not exactly starving yourself. lol You just can't have garbage!

Ewww gross....I didn't know they were filled with snot, but I'll remember that next time ; )

And it is "easier" to decline because its not exactly offered to me, it is placed on a file cabinet in front of my desk, but guess what?!!! I moved yesterday, away from the file cabinet so I'm farther away from the poison ; )

I had a candy corn in my hand.....I held it for about 20 secs before tossing it in the garbage.

I'm soooo glad that I didn't stray, I was down another pound this morning

Can you guys believe this.....someone else brought in donuts today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                        These people really suck!!!!!!

And I already know that they are bringing in donuts, bagels and egg rolls in the morning.

I think I need to bring in a veggie tray or deviled eggs, so I don't feel left out or "deprived".

Ewww, watch out for Candy Corn! I had a little scarecrow decoration with a little basket, I put candy corn in it 5 years ago just to make it look cute. I came to my desk one day and someone had eaten the candy corn! The 5 year old candy corn! If you're tempted, think about the fact that you don't know what these people that bring in this food life is like, they could have licked everyone of those cookies before they put them on the plate (ha, ha), I was once eating cake that this girl brought in, she rescues ferral cats, I found a cat hair in the cake.....gross yourself out, you won't be tempted!

Ewww, both of your examples are pretty gross!

Well there is only a half a donut left, yea! And I'm going to go have something yummy and low carb for lunch : )

But make sure you keep some under the desk so you get to eat some yourself.

Once when I took cheese crackers and meat/cheese rollups to a 'bring a plate' do they were snapped up before I could fill my plate
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
