    Re: Poison on a plate.....

Elizellen: I have the same problem. Everyone now asks me to bring cheese crackers to parties. If I don't hide some away for myself then they are all gone before I get to them.

Cali: You are doing a great job. It's so hard when that happens. They often leave tempting stuff around here. I try to avoid the kitchen, but that's where I have to go to fill up my water jug. I try to just run in and run out. Keep up the good work - soon they'll be asking why you look so fabulous and then you can turn them all around and everyone will be bringing in devilled eggs and cheese crisps. lol

Try this experiment: bring in a veggie tray once a week, just to see what happens! You can make it at home by yourself and take it in with a high-fat ranch dressing (you have to be able to eat it too!)

You know, I went to my son's classroom party the other week and was the only one to bring a veggie tray.

Guess where everyone went? My veggie tray! I even had thankful moms who were so happy they had that option. Many planned to NOT eat (badfor the blood sugar and even more likely to cause a necessary 'fix' later).

        Hmmm...turning the whole office around.....great idea : )

Ok so there is some kind of cake/pie thing sitting on the file cabinet this morning, I know there will be donuts and bagels after my 9:30am meeting, and the lady with the Halloween candy refilled her basket with those bite-sized candy bars.

But guess what, I was down another pound this morning!!!!!! This is my 7th day of re-induction and I've lost 5 pounds since Saturday. I am in a state of ketogenic-Euphoria so I'm not even tempted!!!!!! Last night I was tempted by the chocolate cake that someone left in the breakroom, I stared at it and almost threw it away, but in the end just walked away : )

I love ketosis and this WOE!

        Stay strong everyone!!!!!!!!

Way to go, girl! I'm really proud of you! I'd be sniffing the donuts, man! Take one to your cube and keep it around like a yankee candle. Then toss it out at the end of the day. *l*

Cleo - I can't even look at those things....I'm not strong enough to put it by my desk and not eat it : ( SO I'm trying to not even look at them as I pass (Can you tell that I am an ex-carb addict...? : )

I'm just trying to catch up with you, 30 pounds in 30 days!!!!!! That is wow.... but 5 in 7 is really wow for me : )

California-- I sense the force is strong with this one...

you are doing amazingly! You go girl! I forgot you're still on induction! No wonder the donuts still call your name! I had to wait about a month before even pizza sounded nasty to me.

                Re: Poison on a plate.....

I actually go to the other extreme and bring carb loaded goodies to work. My wife loves to bake and the people at work think she's a baking god. About the only thing that tempts me is the homemade gingerbread straight out of the oven, but she hasn't made that in a looong time.

                  Hey Fozzie,

Good job on keeping the carbs out of the house, and I totally approve of getting rid of existing carbs from one's house and foisting them on unsuspecting co-workers , but Fozz, is it responsible to keep bringing new ones into the world??? You don't want your co-workers running around in a carb-induced fog all the time - all their work may fall in your lap!!

Has your little baking goddess discovered our recipe forum?? Lots of yummy things she can experiment with there. Maybe she can come up with some yummy 1 carb treats for us (that aren't the size of a crumb!!)

                    Re: Poison on a plate.....

Thanks for the encouragement Jamie! Yes, I'm back in Induction. I have been losing/maintaining all year, but I always end up falling out for a week or 3 then I'm back and strong again. This time feels different and I don't think I've ever lost 5 pounds in a week before. I am on a ketogenic-high and its one of the only things that is keeping me from digging into the jelly donut sitting about 10 feet away from me.

But my main motivation is Hawaii!!! I'm going in less than 3 months now and I have to lose more weight before my trip. I think I've also kind of been where you were talking about with your earlier thread today.....I'm also acting like these last 3 months are the last 2 weeks of my challege/goal : )

I'm the only one in the house who is on Atkins. I don't force anyone else to do anything but put up with me! LOL. I'm feeling like the only fat person around sometimes. Before I went on Atkins, I used to bring homebaked goodies practically every day. Anything from a box is an insult to the wife!

I really do eat a whole lot of sweets anyway. About the only sweet thing that I consume is "foo foo" coffee.. I use the splenda sweetened vanilla syrup and some creme. It kills my cravings for anything sweetened in a bad way.

I just recently ordered Sheila's Sugar Free dessert cookbooks and look forward to trying some of the recipes in there. I will be bringing in a few sugar free treats for co-workers and don't plan on even mentioning they are sugar free. I bet they won't even be able to tell.

The people I work with have to be told not to eat the platter.. so they would probably never know!

Fozzy - Yup that's the way they are here too, scarfing everything in sight (of course I used to be like that too!!!) But a lot of them are slim so it doesn't matter to them weight-wise, but I'm sure they haven't had cholesterl and blood pressure checked in a while either!)

Well I made it through the obstacles of poison with a 100% success rate, how's that for fantastic?! And I'm headed to the gym as soon as I can tear myself away from work and the ADBB!!!!!
