    Re: No one noticed

In my case nobody noticed when I went down from 240lbs to 220lb and my waistline wnt from 43" to 41". 20lbs down and 2" off and no one noticed. People only started to otice when I was at 210lbs. Even then they weren't sure if I was really losing weight or I just wore my clothes differently.

But when I went down from 180 to 175, people noticed.

It seems that as you apprach goal, each pound loss has a bigger impact to your personal appearance.

Think of it this way. If there were two dozen cookies piled on a table, no one would probably notice if someone took one or two. If there were only half a dozen, the loss of one would be immediately noticeable.

I was laughing at the cookie analogy....that is so true!!!! ( I used to do that with cookies all of the time!) I think that 25 lbs is awesome!!!!!!!! You just stay on course and people will start to notice. If you had gained it instead of lost it, they'd be talking. It's just human nature to be more critical instead of complementary. Keep us posted on your progress! Congratulations!

Why'd ya hafta bring up cookies? LOL!!!

You're right though, they would be talking if I had gained 25 pounds. In fact, they would have had a field day!

Thank you for the perspective. You hit it right on the head!

            Re: No one noticed

Its true, I lost over 60 pounds before the crew started noticing, and then they were very polite about it, they wouldn't say "OMG you lost weight" they would say "you look great, really great" or something like that. Mind you after that loss, I started wearing more figure flattering clothes too so thats always noticeable when you used to wear a black TENT everywhere! hahahahahahaha

It was great to burn my tent T shirts, very therapeutic

              Re: No one noticed

I understand, at christmas time 2005 I put myself on a 20 day fast (no food , only protien shakes and water), and I lost 20 pounds . no body seemed to notice , I got no responce (praise) from my husband. and after the fast ,(partly because of no one noticeing, and not eating for so long )I pigged out on everything in site, and eating was out of control for a few weeks. I gained all 20 pounds back plus a few more. I now know fasting is not for weightloss but only spiritual/prayer purposes.sweety dont let it get you down that others dont notice the weightloss right away as you continue to lose they will notice.

First of all congratulations on losing 25lbs!!!! Way to go and keep it up! Great work.
I was wondering if you had rewarded yourself with any new clothes? Maybe because you are wearing the same clothes people aren't seeing the diff. I bet if you got a nice new top (something that looks nice now and will still look good as you continue to lose weight) that people would notice the weight loss. It's worth a try.
