  • I only lost 1/2 pound on induction

    Hi! My name is carol. I am on Atkins since April 20th and only lost 1/2 on induction. My goal is 10 pounds Only.
    I have been in yo-yo dieting (not atkins) for a while and reading and trying to understand my body, I guess this affected my metabolism
    I am planing to do induction (extended) for 2 more weeks, to see how my body reacts.
    My menu for Yesterday was as follows:
    • Breakfast: Stek leftovers, 1 piece of flaxseed bun[1 net carb] (I did it myself, it has flaxseed, egg and butter with some baking powder) some butter on the bun and coffe w/splenda[3 carbs]
    • snack: 6 cooked asparagus [2.5 net carbs]
    • Lunch: Steak with sugar free mayo and 6 cooked asparagus [2.5 net carbs]
    • Snack: small lettuce and cucumber salad [4 net carbs](aprox 2 cups)
    • Dinner: Crab and sardines with some olive oil and mayo [2 net carbs]
    Total net carbs: 14
    Water : I drink probably 128 fl oz
    Workout: rest, but normaly I do between 60-70 minutes 5 -6 times during the week.
    Omegas and multivitamin: yes
    ketosis: Yes

    • Lunch: Sardines on olive oil[0] and 6.5 oz cucumber with mayo[3]

        The only thing that jumps out at me, is the coffee. Caffeine can be a staller.

        It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!




        I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

          Nothing about your menus is jumping out at me. I'm assuming you usually get more variety with your veggies and you are just currently in "asparagus mode"? Other than eating different kinds of veggies it looks okay to me. Keep in mind that you only have 10 lbs to lose. A very heavy person can lose that much in a week. You will not lose it in a week. Are you going to move into OWL after the 2 weeks of extended induction? You will still lose weight but you will be adding in more foods so that by the time the 10 lbs is gone you will be eating the maintenance plan and you will have no problem keeping the weight off. You are doing a good job, here. Don't worry so much about what the scale says.

            wow thanks for such fast answers...! I guess is my old friend the coffee...well, I will try this week then without it
            And I do plan to add more variety to my veggies, to be honest, I luv them all!
