    ditto and i'm sitting here looking at the book.

    i see the quote but don't understand the math of the 1.99999999. i agree with more veggies than salad but where are you getting the 1.999999 ?

    sadie and barb, is that what you are questioning too?

      I do understand what you're saying about portion control... it's just that I would rather have another small salad (with a little oil IF the fat is necessary)than a fatty snack such as cheese or pepperoni. I really love veggies and wouldn't mind having a little bit more without going over the total 20 and still staying in extended induction. Just wondering if this is even an option.

        Sorry folks - all I meant was that if you have only 1.2 net carbs from veggies you should have less than that of your other carbs in order to have more than half of your net carbs from veggies (1.19999999999999999999999999 being just a smidgen less than 1.2)

        So if you can manage to have more carbs from your veggies by choosing highercarb ones you can allow yourself more egg/cheese/sweetener carbs too - just stay within the max 20 for induction.
