  • How do I know..

How do I know if I should stay on Induction or move on to OWL. I am currently re-working the Induction Phase and am on Day 3 with no cheats. I did 6 weeks before my cheats and got discouraged because I only lost about 10 pounds. I felt like if I moved on to OWL I would end up gaining again .

Does anyone have any suggestions? Oh... the Keto-Stix never got "purple" but were turning a nice shade of mauve.

The word on the adbb street is if they turn at all they're turning, (kind of like you can't be a little pregnant, lol). Moving on to OWL is something that alot of us are nervous about. I stayed on induction for almost 2 months before doing it. Your weight loss may slow, but some people find it continues or even gets better. SInce the first rung is more veggies, why not try that and see? It's all about how you feel about reintroducing foods. Following atkins as a way of life for me is moving up the rungs and eventually getting to a point where i know my body well enough to identify different foods as having different impacts on my body. There are plenty of people who stay on induction for the duration. Are you getting bored? Do you want to have more variety? There are some awesome stickies from the vets around here about the decision of staying or moving. I hope my little story helps a little.

Dot- Thanks for the advice. I think that once I finish this 2 weeks of (re) induction, I will move up one rung. I know that I also need to add exercise and that will make a huge difference. I was told that I was not eating enough...can that be possible? To me I feel like I am always eating!!!!

You certainly need to keep exercising during the WOE. It's non-negotiable if you want to see long term results. Additionally, you shouldn't plateau in your activity levels, but nor do they have to be tied to increase carb levels. Increase your intensity or length as needed. I agree you certainly could be eating too little, so before you get too discouraged next time, make sure you vent away, post some menu's, etc.
