  • Need Breakfast Ideas

Well I'm back on the Atkins diet, and that means I have to eat breakfast again. There is just one problem, I hate eating "atkins" breakfast, it makes me gag! My choices are pretty much nil, bacon, sausage omelet, or I grab and Atkins bar if I'm in a hurry. I really don't like eggs that much, and can't bare to stomach them unless they are covered in cheese. Can someone give me some new and refreshing "induction safe" ideas for breakfast?

I will do just about anything that is easy and fits into the plan for breakfast. I just go with the foods that I realy love and then I'll eat them anytime.

      How about left overs?
Don't be afraid to be creative - try new things... you may or may not like them, but at least you would have given them a shot. There are lots of breakfest ideas in the recipe sections...
Maybe some "french toast"... pumpkin pancakes, moch danish... there's tons more...

I had a hamburger patty for breakfast this morning. I've had soup for breakfast in the past. You can eat anything that's on the induction list.

breakfast doesn't have to be typical breakfast foods, you can have last nights leftovers, salad, ham/roast beef and cream cheese rollups, chicken wings.

there is nothing that says you have to have bacon/eggs or sausage...you can be creative as you like!

I'd also avoid the atkins bars for b'fast, you'll get alot of feedback on the board about these, they seem to cause alot of people alot of issues with stalls. If you check the ingredients list you'll notice that the ingredients are not all induction friendly.

One of my favorite breakfasts and that's also fast is a BLT. Very yummy.

I'm burnt out on eggs right now, so I usually cook up some ground sausage with some onions and peppers or some Rotel tomatoes and add some shredded cheese.

Like everyone else, I am not big in breakfast foods items. I am more typical to have a sausage stirfry (onions and peppers) or Fajita Chicken Salad. They both take like 5 minutes to heat up and toss together, and they are certainly more filling than what I used to eat for breakfast.

I cant face a cooked breakfast most mornings so I often roll up a couple of ham and gouda cheese slices which I eat with a few cherry tomatoes or pieces of celery.

I've eaten all kinds of things for breakfast from salad to chicken wings, leftovers from the night before, ham/cheese rollups, cheesecake muffins:

2 8oz. pks. philadelphia cream cheese
1/2 cup sweetener (I use spenda)
                  2 eggs
                  1/2 tsp. vanilla

Soften cream cheese about 40 seconds in microwave. Add other ingredients. Beat with mixer till smooth. Pour into 12 muffin pans lined with the papers. Bake at 350 for 20 min.

From lowcarb friends website. They are very filling and very easy to grab and go. Let them sit in the refrigerator over night. Somehow, they are better with time.

Yummy! Was thinking that I was out of my 12 year old's omelets that she eats for breakfast when I ran across this. 30 minutes later there they sit ready for an instant breakfast. Tried one warm out the oven and Mmmm, Mmm. Thanks Joy!

I like some kind of meat (usually a leftover) and avocado in the mornings... maybe a few cherry tomatoes too.

Ok ... not a breakfast food per say, but I love having a salad in the morning, and adding some crumbled turkey bacon or boiled egg or avacado into it.

                          Re: Need Breakfast Ideas

My mom HATES eggs - but I made her a Mock Danish with cinnamon cream cheese frosting and she LOVED it! It is quick and easy in the microwave.

Another thought is some flax bread with whatever topping you like:
                          1/4 cup flax
1.5 tbsp olive oil (or water or butter)
                          1 tsp baking powder
                          Pinch of salt
                          1 egg

Mix in microwave bowl with slightly high sides for 1 minute. Let sit for 1 minute. (I like mine toasted)

This is VERY filling (I can only eat half at a time) and gets your flax in for the day as well.

Having said that - this morning I'm having left over fajitas! YUM!

I'm usually a leftover's person in the morning, something quick is good.

not2late gave this yummy pancake recipe last month and it's delicious.

Beat the egg whites until light & fluffy, fairly stiff, Then beat the egg yolks, add vanilla extract and maybe some sweetener to the yolks and carefully fold it into the egg whites, you can cook them like pancakes in a skillet.

                            So delicious!
I have also made them without the sweetener and vanilla, added some grated cheese and then had the pancakes with some leftovers as a really nice savoury version.
