  • Embarrased to even show my face again!

I know you all are tired of hearing of me "getting back on the wagon". Maybe I lack will power, maybe I just have so many things happen and they open up excuses for me to use. I was doing great, was down from 192 - started back again this spring at 175 or so - then got down to 152 this summer - thennn I had an emergency appendectomy in July - don't get me wrong, I look a lot better than I did, but no where near my goal - since the surgery and going back to my old way of eating I have gained back 20 pounds little by little. Yesterday I got on the scale and it read 172 I about fainted!! I knew I was gaining back some but didn't realize it was that bad - all that work and I am almost back to where I started this Spring. Well I have had it!! I started yesterday back on Induction and this morning the scale read 168.2 (water weight of course) but headed in the right direction. I have to get past the first 4 days and I should be good, I get severe headaches the first couple days of induction. Today I am doing better, still have a headache and my hot flashes are extreme (hystorectomy in 2003) which happened to me the other times I started induction also, but I am determined to get through this and will do my best to stick to it this time. I have some of ya'lls pictures posted around my office and home as inspiration. I really want to be healthy again. I did a BMI calculation and it says I am obese (which I don't agree with because I don't look obese) but I need to be in a healthy weight which is 114-138. I would like to get to about 135 or so.

So anyway, Here I am and Here I go again. I know I dissappointed some people because I kept falling off the wagon but I will do my best this time. I was almost embarrased to come back on here after being on again off again. Just give me a swift kick in the butt and set me straight

Welcome back Rockin!! One thing that I did that helped me was to sit down and seriuously make a plan to succeed. I wrote out all the 'obstacles' and wrote out solutions to overcome them. For instance, NEGATIVE talk from others...I wrote out positive answers to keep myself motivated. For foods that tempted me, I wrote out recipes with substitute ingredients so I could still enjoy my favorite dishes. I took my measurements, weight and my goals. If you keep yourself pumped up with positive thoughts, actions and friends, then it will be easier for you to keep on track. Remember, it is a life-style change. It takes time and persistance to make this way of life a habit. Keep working it and keep coming here for people to share your journey with and you will make it. I can honestly say this has been the best thing thats ever happened to me, we are all here for you!!

Look at the bright side, Rockin - you were smart and came back to doing what you know is best, before letting yourself stray too far. You now know how fast you can gain weight sitting beside the wagon, and you know you can loose weight or at the very least not gain weight as long as you remain on the wagon.

You didn't spend too long gaining weight back, so it should not take too long to get back on your original track.

          Welcome back!

Dwelling on the past doesn't help, only if it helps you move forward and realize where you slipped.

Focusing on the slip will not help.
Focusing on the reason for the slip may help.

Continue from this moment and create a plan so you know where you are coming from AND where you are going.

Please don't be so hard on yourself. The only time you should feel embarassed is when you quit trying and give up. I don't see any of that goin on here!

It took me 2 years of falling off the wagon and getting back on and falling off until it finally clicked for me in July. I went from my lowest of 325 to my all time high of 402 - It happens.
You've realized you were gaining and are here taking control! Good for you! I am proud of you and I know you can do it! We are all here for you

I am going to give it my best and hope for no more road blocks or the strength to get through them if they pop up. I just signed up for the 6 week exercise challange also to get me motivated. I really need to exercise too. I am doing good, this is my 3rd day of re-induction and the headaches are better and feeling less cravings, am down 3.8 pounds since starting on monday. Yes for those of you who know me I am a scale addict. I will update my pictures as soon as I have some time also.
