    Hi
    I'm just coming to the end of my 2nd week of extended induction and I have a small query re fitday and fibre.

    I keep reading about subtracting the fibre from the total carbs...so my question is...where the carb grams appear on fitday under that is an amount for fibre, so if fitday says my total carbs are say 15g and fibre is say 3g...does that mean i've only had 12g net carbs?

    Sorry I'm finding the fibre thing a bit confusing as here in the UK our food labels already have the fibre subtracted from the carb count!

    Any help would be most appreciated

    Hi Janet, I use fitday everyday and yes, you're correct. The carb grams on there are the total carbs for your day and if you subtract the fibre grams shown beneath, that will be your net carbs.

    For custom foods, and I have that here too where labels already have the fibre count subtracted, you need to key in the total carb count as carbs+fibre. Then put in the fibre count as it reads.

    It's common to not get to 20 grams of net carbs. 20 net carbs is the limit in the beginning

      So I could really allow myself a few more carbs then cos my average for the past month has been 13 total carbs!
      I was going to stick on induction for a few more weeks yet as I have a fair bit still to lose...over 40lbs but I could probably move onto OWL and still be below 20g for the first couple of weeks.

        When I did induction my daily average worked out at around 15 net carbs.
        OWL has been so good and rung 1 is simply adding 5 more net carbs of the same veggies you're having now. So then I was up to 20 a day and really enjoying playing with the extra. Like making sauces and things too with the extra vegetables.

        Rung 1 would bring you to 18 carbs on average and you can stay on it for as long as you like
