    Hello there!

I've been on induction for three weeks now as I'm trying to keep it up as long as possible, and I have a cream-based question. Apparently it is only allowed in small quantities during the induction period, yet when I look at the nutritional info on the cream cartons, there is very little carbohydrate in it, about 7-8 grams for the whole pot.

I know that for some people cream can slow down the process, but is that absolutely the case? Because I've found that cream really is a life saver in terms of getting a sweet fix, and I would hate to have to be stingy with it!

Please let me know if cream in large quantities is an ABSOLUTE no no, or if as long as I stay within my 20 grams of carbs a day allowance overall I'll be fine. I'm dreading the response!

    Re: Cream

Hi, Matt! According to the book, we are limited to 2-3 tablespoons of cream per day.

I don't know about the cream, sorry. I do know where you are coming from though when you say it's part of a sweet fix!!! I have overeaten/overdranken it before and noticed no change on my scale the next day (in induction phase), so maybe cream & weight loss are in correlation to one another.

Matt maybe you should go onto OWL. The sooner you start doing the rungs the sooner you can get more variety into your diet. I am a true believer that just as much weight if not more comes off during OWL. Induction is just a kick start. Rung 1 is just adding more veggies. Rung 2 will allow you dairy and you can get more creative with dealing with your sweet tooth.

I concur, move onto OWL, you're still going to loose weight, you are only adding increments of 5 carbs, but once your move through the veggies, you can move to rung 2 with is dairy, more cream, sour cream, yogurt, cheese....but remember, same rules apply....moderation.
