    Re: Atkin Friendly Resturants?

I went to Burger king the other day and they still offer Low carb whoppers. I got it in a salad bowl with just the veggies. I did read somewhere on this site that they may use a bit of dextrose in their meats so I would only use them as a last resort ( which it was... I could've eaten the arse end out of a FREIGHT TRAIN that day, I won't skip breakfast ever again....lol) But there's another one! Wow this really is a helpful post. I LOVE TGIF!!!!!

    Peace to all

Be sure to use your head though with "Low carb" menu items. Mimi's cafe here has a "low carb" breakfast selection, all seem to be 25+ carbs, and truly weird and NOT low carb options. No thanks, I'll just have 3 eggs and 2 pieces of bacon thanks...

Low carb is not a tomato plate with egg beater eggs and a side of bread...

Definitely always ask for substitutions. Be picky!

I recently went out to breakfast at this great pub, and my omelette came with a side. The waitress asked "Do you want biscuits and gravy, or potatoes and toast?" I curled up my nose, knowing there was no way I would eat biscuits and gravy, and I knew that the potatoes would make me sick, so I said, "Well, I really don't want either" and the server said, "Well, we can bring you some fresh fruit--so she brought me out a HUGE plate! It was awesome, and my breakfast companions were totally jealous that I hate a plate of berries, melon, grapes, and oranges and THEY didn't. The old me would have just accepted the food to be nice, and just not eaten it. But luckily the new me decided that since I was paying for this meal, I should get my (legal) money's worth!

          Re: Atkin Friendly Resturants?

It's a rare restaurant that I can't find ANYTHING to eat. Almost any restaurant has some sort of meat option that is grilled and some sort of vegetable option whether it's a salad or steamed vegetable.

Most have no problem making substitutions, and if they do have a problem, I'll find somewhere else to eat. I haven't had that problem though...honestly.

          Just speak up for yourself.
