  • how im getting on!

I started atkins over three weeks ago, weighing in at a disgusting 326 lbs .
my story is the same as all yours i expect.

You have kids get married and put on weight as you get older, anyhow at 36 i decided i dont want to live like that any more.

I started my induction weight 326 lbs and im now at 303lbs,
I cant believe how well its gone, i just manged to get my head on it, i dont even know why or how myself.
i still stick to my 20g of carbs, and have joined a gym, most nights i now do
20 mins cycling, 20 mins fast walking (soon to step up to light jogging) 20 mins on the crosstrainer and 20 minutes on the rower.
i havent told any of my mates at work because theyd pull my leg, but i feel i have to share it with someone.
The best bits i have found out so far are ....
1/ your mind is so much more focused at work
2/ i wake up in the morning and my "beertank seem to be getting smaller each day.
3/ my shirts for work are baggy now where as before they were bursting at the buttons.

    Great going!!

Your mates may well pull your leg, but they'll be begging for hints and clues when they see the weight melt away!

          Great job!

I think the ONLY upside to being 300+ lbs (I started at 340) is getting to drop so much weight during induction

          Heres to shrinking "beertanks"!!

                    Great going

And congratulations on getting to the gym and exercising too

You might find adding some weights work to all that cardio will help you change shape as well as lose weight!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I'm so happy for you -- what a great start! Please, though, don't refer to yourself or your body as "disgusting," no matter what size.

ive gone off it over the last few days,
however, im going to do another 2 weeks of 20g nett per day, i havent put any back on and still am at 303 lbs,
im also hammering the gym now with 1/2 hour on the crosstrainer which is 10 mins more than i used to do

Don't get discouraged. Just get back on track and make it happen! I agree with Elizellen. Back off on a little cardio and go for some weights. It will build muscle which burns more fat and will tone your body up!
