Is low carb ice cream a "no-no" on extended induction?
We bought some and for the first two weeks of induction I didn't want to eat any. Now I wanted to eat some, but I didn't know if it would stall my weightloss.
    Any thoughts?

You need to be on the dairy rung (#2) If you're on extended induction, why not mosey on to owl and you can enjoy that treat in a few weeks.

Low carb ice cream destroyed my weight loss progress. I was steadily losing started eating low carb ice cream and then gained 5 pounds. Soon as I stopped eating it I started losing again. I'd definately suggest avoiding it. If you decice to eat it I'd make sure you are very careful and eat only a single portion.

lots of people here make their own using cream which is 'induction-legal'
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Well, thats weird. I've copied thread links before after using the ADBB search funtion and never had a problem, but when I click on that link I jsut created it takes me to wikipedia.

If it doesn't work for you try doing an advance search, switch the drop down from searching threads to serachng for titles and type in "icecream" one word. The entry at the top of the list is the one I was trying to link to.

Listen to the warning about the sugar alcohol. Not just in ice cream but in candy too. My son-in-law drove a truck and took my daughters bag of sugar free candy to munch on while he drove. That night he was in so much pain they had to call an ambulance he thought he was dying. When my daughter told me ate the bag of candy I knew what was wrong. Been there done that so to say. We kid him about a $350.00 case of gas.

store bought low carb ice cream is evil, so is low carb candy those two things have got me in trouble in the past. the feeling that i can "get away" with eating those things a few times is too easy for me then all heck breaks loose, have a bite of bread etc etc.
heck my head is hurting at the moment cause i had some corn on the cob for supper tonight! i thought it'd just be a treat but its biting me back big time! darn iowa corn.

Lol, that's a hilarious story, poor guy! Sugar alcohols seem to bother a lot of people, but for me there's no effect and it's a great way to resist a plate of donuts or cookies at work.

                            Re: Low-Carb Ice cream

In 2004, I had reached my goal weight, done all the rungs of OWL and was well into Maintenance,,, Then I went on a 3 week visit to my friend in the USA. I was thrilled to see Low-carb ice-cream as it was something I hadn't been able to get in the the UK. One bowl a night was all it took to switch my sweet tooth back on and despite sticking to low-carb like glue the rest of the time, I gained 6lb in weight.

The slippery slide began on my return to the UK and hence why 3yrs later, im back here now.

                            Be carerful.
