Re: So Ready to give up

The very first thing you all need to do is read the book .............. read read read ............. make sure you are doing what it says!!!!!!!

Next Change your mindset this is not a diet but a LIFESTYLE!!!!!!!

Take a look at other benefits aside frolm weightloss .......... do you feel better? Have more energy????

Look for other reasons why the weight might not be moving .......... Are you eating too much? Are their hidden carbs in something your eating .......... Are you drinking things with caffiene? Too much sugar free things (these will stall you)

Next post a sample menu in the review my menu forum and let the experts help you out there ..........

            Also Move your body!!!!!!!!

There is most often a reason things are not going like you hope they wil and the people here can help you but you need to post details ......... starting weight, goal weight .........food choices, exercise routine .......... ect.......... what you drink during the day, amounts of food eaten ....... the more details the easier it might be for us to find a glitch in your system ........

            specifically to:

palms86 - Hang in there and post what you can .. it sounds like you really need this WOL and we are here ot help you!

doorsfan333 - not eating for 8 hours at a time could be your problem ........ your putting your body into starvation mode ....... you need to eat at least every 4 of waking hours ....... Ketosis is the state of burning fat for fuel .........you would know if you were in ketosis because your appetite would be suppressed and your energylevels up ........ you would feel great! There are testing strips for finding out if your in ketosis but honestly you don't need them .....

gunnabfit - not to be rough on you but your statement first of all I CANNOT stop cheating!!! should be a huge clue as to why it's not working for you .........

We are here to give you all 100% support ............ hang in there read the book and post more info on your specific daily routine!

            Keep on keeping on ladies!

Re: So Ready to give up

Also aside from eating/exercising there could be other things specific to you that could hinder weight loss. When I did this 4 years ago the weight FLEW off literally, but years of yo-yo dieting have taken their toll. Also, if you are on the pill or any other medications that can slow your weight loss also. I used to know my body and know what my weight would be in the morning if I was X weight at night... now that I've been on the pill my body is SO different and its been much more of challenge to get weight off. Hang in there, if you are in ketosis and following the book it will work and a year from now you will look back wishing you had stuck with it even if the going was slow!
I would rather struggle to do this, than struggle with the fact that I can't...

Re: So Ready to give up

                    Awesome post Heidi......

Girls as Heidi posted this is a way of life...if your wanting to lose weight fast and easy, this isn't for you. This is a way of changing your life for the better, putting good food into your systems not garbage. If your going to fall off or binge in a weeks time your not at a point in your life that your ready to do this, being aware of everything you put into your mouth, being accountable ......this way of life does work but we all can have our moments, don't get me wrong. We all cry about it, maybe sneak some junk food every now and again but the first thing we noticed is how crappy we feel after words, accountability comes in alot of different forms.I'm not one to talk... I started atkins about 4 years ago, lost weight but my problem was I didn't eat enough so I gained alot of it back.Finding this board has changed my life.I came on crying about my weight gain posted my menu and got nailed by a few people here about not eating enough...I
didn't give up I wiped my knees off..said I can do this...started being accountable, joined some challenges read alot and have made a few friends and now this is my addiction. Pushing on everyday, listening when I screw up and getting and (at a boy) when we do good..
get up wipe your knees off and make a fresh start...it does work if your willing to give it time

Re: So Ready to give up

To those who are cheating, I had the same problem when I did this the first time. If you can make it through the first few days, it gets so much easier. Its like any other addiction. You can do it keep a positive attitude and know that you can do anything if you put your mind to it. Also, the stricter you are about it, the easier it is. I find that I don't even want the stuff anymore unless its right in front of me and even then, its easy to say no. Even the tiniest slip up, though, makes it much harder. Even things sweetened with Splenda can do it.

Also, keeping a food journal REALLY helps. You won't lose weight if you're consuming far more calories than you are burning no matter how low-carb your diet is. I'm using Fitday.com which is SUPER-EASY and fast to use, but there are other options as well. Also, it will make it much easier to examine what you are eating and determine what is wrong.

Edit: Its also intensely satisfying to go over your food intake and see how well you've done sticking to it! Its almost like a little natural high I get looking at what I've accomplished even in just the short time I've kept track of the things I eat.

Re: So Ready to give up

Palms - hang in there. You can do it. It is very common to not see weightloss the second week or to suddenly go up a few pounds. The scale does not tell the whole story and many times not even the true story. You may have exercised hard and retained some water, you may have eaten too much salty stuff and retained some water. It will come back to normal soon. Try to rely on those measurements as well. They are sometimes far more accurate.
And make sure you have lots of legal treats so you don't so easily eat illegal things when you feel like snacking.

Re: So Ready to give up

You have a decision to make:

                          Quit and be fat.

Stick to it and be thin.

Unless you can find the determination and motivation, you will never be or deserve to be thin. It's hard work and we all have to go through it. stop making excuses and start doing something about your life. (not trying to be rude, just stop quitting or you'l never achieve anything)

Take it from me, and experience of all the fad and yo yo dieters who have landed, and thankfully landed on this WOE, there is no diet or plan ever invented that is more efficient or as easy to stick to as this one. Put your complete faith into it, and stick to it, and you will lose weight! Whenever I start to wander....I head over to the Before and After section....my biggest motivation!!!!

thank you guys for all the support.. I guess I am in ketosis because I am really not hungry at times and I'm not tired. Next week is finals for me and I'm prepping this week trying to get things done and cramming like crazy. Next week will also be chaotic and I haven't been finding any time to eat what-so-ever. I'm just way too busy.. but I do eat breakfast. I hope this doesn't slow down my weight loss. I haven't cheated one bit! I'm proud that I haven't but honestly it's really discouraging to not see the pounds shed and when i tape measure my body only a few centimeters come off but I'm not sure if it's just me pulling at the tape.. well.. I'm still going to continue this because I know once I eat a piece of bread I'll gain like 10 pounds since i'm not used to carb anymore. =/
