Mild chicken wings ... about 15-20 of them (however many were in the appetizer) was my dinner. Anyone know how many carbs ... the wings should be very low and I dont think the sauce has any sugar ... but if anyone knows le tme know!

this is a prime example of what not to do Plan your outings and find out before the food goes in your mouth if it is oaky for your phase of atkins and what the carb count is and the ingredients. You could ask the server to check what was in it and the nutristional info for you before you ordered so you could make an informed good choice for your Atkins WOE. some like the mild Hooters sauce have extra ingredients not acceptable on atkins and added carbs.

Applebee's doen't have nutritonal on line info for anything other then their WW dishes.

Reread my original question ... I knew everything was induction safe, I just wanted to know the exact carb count.

Hello, I read somewhere Applebee's wing sauce contains some kind of starch and sugar! If I go to Applebee's I get the Sirloin and Ribs no sauce with broccoli. There are better choices then wings on introduction I have been on this WOL for about 8 weeks and I am scared to put any thing in mouth if I do not know what is in it! ILookHappy

If you know what went into the sauce, then you should be able to estimate it's carb count...you'll need a carb counter to do that.

again you don't put anything in your mouth before you know the carb count and if it is legal for your phase. All it takes is one stinking carb over your persenal CCLL just one and your weight loss stops dead! So again Never put anything in your mouth until you know the ingredients and the carb count and if it is legal for your phase

oh and you better cal your Applebees cause it ain't just hot sauce and water it has dried milk powder thickeners and soy in it too!

i know everyone is different, but i don't think that emo's weight loss is going to come to a screeching halt over this. apparently the consensus is that those wings have some stuff that you shouldn't be eating in it, so just stay away from them next time. lesson learned.

Applebee's does not give out their nutritional information including their carb counts according to their own statement on their website. Their reasoning is that they have varied sources in places across the country for the foods they buy and serve to their customers.

It is my personal policy not to eat at restaurants which don't provide nutritional information. Many restaurants use "hidden" ingredients for enhanced flavors and preservatives so although I make spectacular chicken wings at home without added sugars, there is no way for any of us to know what they have in their product. It's not a chance that I'm willing to take since maintaining ketosis and the fat burning metabolism is important to me.

When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.

Re-read the ketostix FAQ in the FAQ forum. The stix only tell you that fat is being metabolized, but it doesn't distinguish between the fat you ate or the fat on your body.

I googled Applebees and apparently there is some nutritional info on their wings. Since they're a low fat outfit, they only give the total cals and total fat values, nothing else unfortunately. So with that very limited information you can't even mathematically estimate what the carb count is. Had they included the protein content, you would be able to figure out the total carb count.....

I also googled other Applebee type restaurants and found their carb counts on their wings were anywhere from 2 net carbs "per serving" to 48 net carbs "per serving". The serving size varied widely too. One place called a "one serving" 1/2 of the order The carb count for their "one serving" was 24 net carbs. Another place's "one serving" was 8 wings with a net carb count of 43.

:sadblinky Kind of sad to watch you all just jump on Emo Boy rather than gently assist. He is still learning. This is one of the reasons that I read the boards but rarely post, people are too quick to jump on someone.

Bilowi, can you point to where he was jumped on specifically? Because I've read the replies here too and I think he's been given some awfully good advice like never eating anything unless you know what's in it, or checking out a restaurant's website for the nutritional info on their meals.
