  • Ok..what should I do..or not do...

It's been four weeks and I'm stuck at 148.8 pounds and not losing inches either. Started Atkins on 1/10/05 at 165.8 As you can see I lost a decent amount my first month and just a few inches around my waist. Hips and bust still the same. Now I'm stuck. Have stayed on a clean induction and drink 99oz or more water a day. Exercise about 3 times a week.

    Any suggestions..

Oh and during TOM I didn't gain either..but never have even before Atkins

I would drop the cheese and see what happens. Another thing....all decaffeinated products still contain caffeine because they can't remove the caffeine completely.

If your chicken breast is boneless, skinless you're way off on fat, your fat would be around 50%. Even if it's not, you're still low on fat. The calories come up less than 1,000 too. In my opinion you need to up your fat as well as your calories.

I would definitely try dropping the cheese...my weight doesn't budge when I eat it.

I'd leave the cheese as is and up the exercise. Your menu looks solid to me and falls within the Induction guidelines.

You're probably a bit low on calories, so adding another snack in there might prove to be beneficial to you as well.

It could just be that your body is taking a bit of a weight-loss hiatus, which bites, but if that's what it's doing the easiest way to jump start it is to start burning more calories and building some muscle.

Remember that changing up your exercise routine or increasing the amount your doing can (and likely will) cause some water retention, so if you see a bit of a jump on the scale, don't panic. It's transient. Your body will let go of the additional water & lactic acid in short order and you'll be well on your way again.

              I wish you success

The cheese has been a known staller so I agree with Megs to try to cut it out at least for a week. It coudn't hurt to experiment with that for a few days I think.

                  Hey {{{Ms Newbie}}}, you're looking good :wave

I plugged her menu into fitday. Fat was 48-50%, the calories were 800 something. That's where I got that from (based on a skinless, boneless chicken breast and a cooked 4oz steak)

heh. I'm a big fan of cheese. It's a high fat, high calorie, satisfying part of my diet & I refuse to give it up. LOL Cheese does stall some people, but I don't think giving it up for a week and seeing a change is any proof that *cheese* is the culprit. I know it took me a lot longer to verify certain foods were an issue for me, but I digress. With her calories & fat low, it's an easy shoo-in for the menu for me.

I plugged it into fitday quicklike too, and yep - fat is low and so are calories, but that's assuming her measurements are dead on and she's using a scale to weigh food. People tend to vastly underestimate how much they're eating, so.. it's really hard to say. That fat is low, but I'm not a big fan of eating stuff just to eat & fudge numbers. LOL

                    Thanks & :wave !!

well I'm just speaking from my experience since the only thing I changed in my diet was the cheese and I dropped as have many other people from what I've been reading on these boards...I think you can absolutely see if cheese is the culprit in a week. It's like an allergy ...if you get a rash from something and cut it out then most likely it is the problem..also...we don't know if she used skinless or that the steak was 4oz...why don't we have her punch in her own information in fitday to get an accurate assessment before we tell her to up the amount she's eating.

                        ok now don't throw stones...

It was a bonless, skinless chicken breast but it was a 6 oz steak. So my next question...

How would I add more fat to my diet? (NEVER thought I'd ask THAT question!!)

Well, if it were a rash that would be one thing, but seeing a pound drop is an entirely different thing. A million things can result in the loss of a pound down to something as simple as eating a bit less salt and drinking a little bit more water over the course of a week. <shrug> I think a lot of times people cut themselves off from a food prematurely because they make leaps in logic, that's all I'm saying.

Just wanted to clarify what I was trying to get across

Adding fat? That's easy enough. Dressing on your salad, cooking in olive oil or occasionally butter, mayo, etc.

Easy way are things like using Ranch dressing to dip your veggies in, using olive or canola oil to cook meats in (I'm a olive oil lover). butter to fry eggs in, etc.
