Have you lost any lbs since your post. If not, I followed the acceptable foods list and I have the book. My motto no fried food, no bread, cakes, cookies and no soda at least in the induction phase. If you follow and I mean follow the acceptable foods list you will lose up to 13 lbs or even more in the Induction phase and that is without exercising.

Why 13 lbs? Where does that number come from? Losing up to 13 lbs or even more means any number from 0 to infinity (okay, with an upper limit set by the amount of weight the person has to lose)... which is absolutely correct for any diet... but I'm wondering why 13.

        Congrats for your weight loss!

I've read it and I stay on Atkins online help line. Only thing I can say it was something for me to try and reach. It didn't discourage mean it just made me stick to acceptqble foods more. Not everyone will lose 13lbs but it is a goal to try and reach. It works for me.

Use coconut oil to fry eggs. Try a little coconut oil in your coffee or tea. It will give a boost of energy. You will notice your temperature change and might sweat a little. I was amazed when I tried it. It makes me go into deep ketosis. Try it.

Best advice is get yourself a copy of the 2002 version of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution. Also stay away from the Atkins website as their objective is to sell their products. Atkins products are not Induction friendly~~read the ingredient list. Also check out the Induction forum here on ADBB.

              Good luck on your journey!

Why no fried food? I fry almost everything. Its the only way that I can keep my fat intake high enough.

I think the poster meant no breaded or batter-coated fried food.

Like you I often fry my foods as a quick and easy way to add fat to my menus.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Try to stick to only 2 Cups of veggies daily and eat the rest meat...chicken and turkey mostly...do this for at least 3 days...you'll start to notice a difference. Also there are Ketone strips you can buy at your local drug store that let you know your progress. Good luck!

                    Goals!!!

We follow DANDR here and the rule is to eat 3 cups of veggies and to eat fatty proteins (or proteins with fat). What you are suggesting does not sounds quite like Atkins.

Re: HELP-- Week 3 on Induction and no weight loss

try and aim for 65% fat , 30% protein , 5% carbs but if that does not work try 75-80% fat , 17-23% protein , 2-4% carbs

no atkin shake or bars they have illegal ingridiants even though they say induction its not true

                        no aspartame

and as for your exercise heavy exercise would be much more effective than light exercise for loseing fat with atkins

light exercise does not really drain the glucose from your muscles thats why you can do it so easily for so long

heavy exercise drains the glucose much more effectively and in turn makes for much better fat loss

Try stepping up your exercise. It works wonders.
