If you can't use cream, then drink it black. Seriously, fake cream will ruin your arteries! There's most likely trans-fats in it ... there's certainly sugar. It's disgusting stuff. And the sugar in it means you shouldn't be having it because of the Candida.

So there's no good reason to have it.
Hmmm.... Yeah, you're probably right. My husband also thinks I shouldn't drink it either. It does seem unhealthy using all those weird ingredients.

On a good note, I bought a bunch of organic foods yesterday. Hoping to eat healthier and hopefully lose weight, too!

I will try to drink the coffee black. Sigh.....

But, with the sweeteners- both too much and the wrong kind, nuts, caffeine (I sympathize and have not yet fully given up my java), not enough water, not measuring accurately, blahblahblah it is clear that the diet isn't failing you. You just haven't done it correctly yet so you can't really say it isn't working.

How about thinking all this out and giving it a couple of weeks done correctly and see what happens. Measure now, stay off the scale, and focus on doing this WOE right. I bet the results will surprise you. (Hug) I also think you deserve a whoosh soon.
      Hi,

I think you're right, I haven't been doing Atkins totally the way I'm supposed to. I am going to cut out all nuts and the fake sweeteners. (I'm going to drink a cup only of black coffee a day). I also need to up my veggies.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, the whoosh wishes and hug!

Track as many things as possible, including sauces and things like butter, oil, etc.

Re-read the book section and FAQs here on stalls too. There could be a number of reasons, including known stallers. You might try eliminating some of these and see what happens. Or try moving on to OWL.

This WOE works differently for everyone, and sometimes differently each time we go through the phases.
        Hi Bizzlekitty,

I did start a notebook of my food and exersise just recently so thanks for that suggestion. It's very nice to go back and look at it and I do see a definate lack of veggies.

I'm also doing as you mentioned eliminating some foods. I'm going to give this a really good shot.

        Thanks for your note!!!

I was checking out the yeast board today and they have some links to antiyeast diets. You might want to pop over and see if you need cut out certain foods for a bit while taking something to get rid of the yeast.
            Hi RitaCeleste,

Thanks for the note! It's great you had luck on the yeast cleanse. I sure hope it works for me, too. When you did the cleanse, did you also cut out mayo and salad dressings with any vinegar in them?

I have been on the yeast (candida) boards however it's pretty dead over there. I think I'll stick to this board, mostly.

BTW, I heard once you have it, you can never get rid of it and only manage it. Do you ever get it back like you did?

            Thanks!!

But it seems to be that eating yogurt would be counter productive - is that really what this person recommended? Wouldn't a supplement without any milk lactose be far more effective?

Re: So discouraged - been crying - not losing on Atkins.

Dairy is about only bad food for it I have regularly. But yeah, I may need to do another cleanse. I'd been blaming my slow weight loss on getting closer to goal cause I didn't want to give up the cheese. I have had a couple of stalls and things but they passed. Cheese and dairy stalls me period if I have too much though. Pretty much the cleanse got rid of the bloating and some other things and got the weight loss started good. I think my diet is pretty much keeping it under control now though. The recipe I have that uses vinegar is not low carb so haven't eaten much of that, and I only have mayo with tuna and I don't eat that much. Tartar sauce with shrimp has been okay rarely too. Mine never did come back as bad as it was though. I've been able to eat and loose without doing cleanses all the time. Yogurt stalls me and causes some trouble, if you have a problem with yeast, it may not be for you except in tiny amounts or very rarely.

My starting weight was 235 lbs and I'm trying to get to 130 lbs.

                1st mini goal: 145! met 12/09
                2nd mini goal: 140!
                3rd mini goal:135!
                4th mini goal: 130!

I drink coffee. I drink when I am thirsty. I am just a low carber. Not on Atkins at all!!! He has everything to do with my weightloss and nothing to do with it, depending on who you ask.

                  Hi Liv!

Thanks for your comment and your concern. That's what I though! She told me that despite the fact it's lactose based, the billions of probiotics that are given outweigh that fact and that it's the highest amount I could get in a dose. Most of the people who took this regularly are able to get over Candida quickly. I'm going to trust her since she also used to have it and it was cured through the same product.

Interesting! Thank you for sharing this. I'm really new to this yeast overgrowth thing and it's great to know I have someone to talk to about it.

As far as the stuff I'm taking, it's not actually yogurt, I found out today. I was wrong. It's just a fermented stuff with billions of live cultures. It's very small and strong I guess. I surely hope that this stuff doesn't stall me even more!

Does it give you blood sugar symptoms?

Maybe focusing on one problem at a time would be a good approach?

Focus on getting all your vegetables, all your food, and all your water.

I don't know what' 'blood sugar symptoms' are. I'm not a diabetic is that what you mean? It doesn't make me hungrier at all. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Oh, you misplaced your book, didn't you? There is a Blood Sugar Symptoms test in DANDR (pp. 150-151 in the paperback edition).

But as J. said, focus on following the plan correctly.

It would be good to find your book. I can't go more than one day without mine.

I went to the library yesterday and checked out an older version of it. I'll check that part out. Thank you!

You need the 2002 edition. Plain and simple.

You really do need to own a copy if you're going to make Atkins your lifestyle.

I've never known anyone who got to "goal" and maintained their weight loss without a copy.
