  • why on earth am not losing ........

    hi alll
    am v.disappointed am now on the start of week 4 of induction(2 weeks of induction and am decided to go for extended induction )
    i lost about 10 lbs in the first week of atkins , in the second week i gained 2 since that am just gaining and losing these 2 LBS (am weighing my self every other day and i can't stop it ) ........
    am doing it write , drinking water 2800 ml / day , exercise 30 mins every other day , cheese less that 4 /day , eating my veggies , and with fiday am consuming the appropriate portions of carb, protein ,and fat .

    what is wrong with me ????

    Post what you ate yesterday. Maybe the experts can see something that you don't.

      in the morning start with
      2 eggs with 4 spoons of ground beef (not processed it is pure) with abit of salt and i Tsb of olive oil .......
      snack i string cheese
      chicken drum sticks (made it my self)with 1 cup of broccoli and 2 cups of lettuce , 2tsb of mayo(no sugar added)........
      2 slices of cheese and 1 MIMs (3 tsb of falx meal ,packet of splenda , bakig soda ,cinnamon and one egg wich about 3.5 carbs).........
      5 chops of beef (small one)........and one rite diet (zero crb , caffeine , sugar)

      that is a typical day of me ......ofcurse with some simple changes every day

        Are the only vegetables you're eating broccoli and lettuce?

          Emmy, do you use FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal. I wonder if your eating enough food but I can't really tell by that. Are you ever hungry?

            no am not ...........
            and i use fit day sometimes and my calorie counts usually above 1500 ...........
            really am disappointed and i need to cry .........am giving all the carbs (cakes , choclates......etc) my husband used to eat it and am really not losing even in inches .........

              Cut soda and MIM's.
              You don't really need it.
              Have something else like a low carb quiche or an omelet and stuff them with yummy introduction veggies.

                I'll presume that's the answer to the vegetable question?

                Ok ... you need more vegetables!!!!

                MOST of your daily net carbs (and you should be getting as close to 20 net as possible for good nutrition) should be coming from Induction vegetables ... and 2 cups of lettuce and 1 cup of broccoli isn't doing that.

                Please do that for a week and see what happens.

                Also ... plan on moving to OWL.

                  No, no don't cry. We can figure this out, we really can.

                  I'm thinking maybe you could up your fats some. Check your fitday and see what the last fat percent was the last time you used it.

                  This is sometimes a very frustrating diet. I lose in spurts and between them I also get really frustrated. You may be the same.

                  Do you take any meds?

                    no am not taking any kinds of meds ..........
                    i will try to up my fats as well as my veggies ......and see the results.......
                    i really was at the edge to stop dieting..........
                    really u helped me alot ............as i have someone to hear my complains and replied to me am really thnakful that was big help to me ..........))

                      Even though you are below 4oz it could be the cheese causing the stall, many stall on cheese. Also I have no idea why but I usually stall if I eat ground beef too often. You'd think it's meat it shouldn't but it always has.

                          That's funny, I would weigh myself after a haircut...LOL

                          But to the original poster, your menu looks fine...for induction...but that being said I would agree with the other posters about the diet soda and possibly the cheese. Both can be issues. I also agree that you could move to OWL, where you could up your veggies, many people seem to see their wightloss pick back up once they've moved into OWL.

                          I personally do a modified OWL/induction, I eat OWL foods but tend to keep my carb count around induction levels or just over, with an occasional splurge up close to my CCLL. That way I get more variety but my loss keeps moving.

                          Stick with it and good luck.

                            thanx all for the replies .........
                            about the constipation that is another issue .....i don't have regular bowel movements ....i used senacot , psyllum husks , olive oil ,drink alot of water and nothing seems to help me .....................((
                            TOM due is soon i guess in 4 days but my problem started 3 weeks back so i can't say this because of it.

                              Spread out your veggies - eat more substantial things than just greens.
                              Stop eating cheese totally
                              Cut out sweet drinks and all sweeteners for a bit.
                              Exercise and drink water take a supplememt

                              That is my advice
