I used to be an excellent baker but since I changed our lifestyle and food choices in our house, I no longer do so.
But, for the holidays I made a berry pie for guests. I tried a bite to see if it needed anything. I was so dizzy and nausious for about 15 hours and a poundling headache. Then, I was so jitty, I got on the treadmill at 12am to burn some of the energy.
When I say a bite, I really mean a bite.
So, I did not do well with a taste of pie.

I think part of the effect is because of the "good" bacteria that live in our gut. These little guys help you digest all sorts of foods, including sugar. When you cut sugar out of your diet, part of the good bacteria population dies off -- they don't have as much to live on. Add back those foods, and you don't have those helpers, so the sugars ferment in your gut, causing gas, bloating, etc.
This is probably at least part of the reason why Dr. Atkins insisted that carby foods be added back in SLOWLY -- part of adjusting is gradually building back those helpers in our gut.
So, how long before those good bacterias goes back? Can fruits help?
I've been having those nasty reactions (dizzy, nausea, headaches) when I started adding back foods like soya milk, foods containing milk, fruit juice, banana, watermelon, oyster sauce, oatmeal, and I found out that these foods contains lots of sugar or high carb.
Are there any other remedies to put those good bacterias back at full force again in a short time?

You may actually have some food intolences that you were until now unaware of . Yougurt is supposed to be good for lactobactillis and common gut flora.
