    Re: Need some Maintenance Friends

I'm with you Heidi. I too don't find sugary things too sweet. They still taste good and I never get any kind of carb hangover. It totally sucks! I've also yet to experience a true endorphin rush from exercising... that sucks too!

Thanks heavens for inner motivation! Thank heavens for diminished cravings on this great WOE... and thank heavens for all the truly wonderful foods we CAN eat!

      Re: Need some Maintenance Friends

Thanks darling Denise have a good weekend !!!

Sally it is so true if I don't eat sugar ...or really any refined foods...I do fine with eating...my appitite is suppressed beautifully and I am only really hungry when I need food and even then it is not the insane urge to eat that I used to have .. if I eat refined foods or sugars I get the "YA YAs" and want to eat everything in sight ...especially when the moon is hovering over my head

I wish I could just take a magic wand and "poof" everyone who is frustrated but wants to change and show them it takes time to acheive this goal but during that time you must eat well relax ..enjoy the process and not fixate on the goal!!! I wish I could give them the skills to cook and eat lots of good fresh healthy well prepared satisfying foods that fills not just your body, but eyes, nose and mouth with enough pleasure that you just do not crave crap ...

I had a ear of corn on the cob for the first time tonight...I hope I do ok with it , i really love fresh corn from the farmers market, a real summer treat, with real butter of course. I am having a hard time coming up with an exact carb number that I am having a day...I write the foods in my stat's journal but... fitday takes so long. I am open to any advice you have for me....

Hi Becca welcome to you!!!! OOOXXX advice hmmmm ...relax and enjoy where you are!!!! I do not count carbs myself but maybe someone else can help with that? I do try to eat only when I am really hungry and only to the point of content ....that is how I have kept myself in order ..avoiding feeling stuffed ....by stopping several times during meal to see where I am ....overeating made me fat ...I am sure of it now

Thanks Hedi, You know thats the problem I really don't usually tally the carbs just eat things that are low carb and try to listen to my self and not overeat even of legal things...I like to eat when sad, lonely, stressed, bored etc...and I've been trying to work though that and find other outlets for feeling than stuffing food at them..........Oh and boy I love to eat, I love they way food tastes so I have to watch overeating.

              Re: Need some Maintenance Friends

I agree Becca... I found the online version of Fitday very slow and cumbersome. My advice (and many probably wouldn't agree with me) would be to get the pay version of Fitday. It's much more flexible and you can put groups of foods in custom lists and a favs list. Makes for much quicker listing. It does take a bit of getting used to though. Now it only takes me about five mins to put in all my foods.

Congrats on being virtually at the finishing line!

                Re: Need some Maintenance Friends

Thanks Sally I will check into the pay Fitday...I do have alot of custom foods in Fitday now I wonder if they would transfer?
I tried potato for the first time last night. DH had a baked potato with dinner he ate the middles...he doesn't scrap it out and eat it all. so I cut the potato in half and ate what was left of half a baked potato with butter and sour cream...I ate the skin too so it was very much like a potato skin about that much potato pulp...this morning up in weight a bit, I'm not worried about that just assessing my reaction to potato...didn't make me cravey but did seem to make my tummy rumble a little after eating it.
Anyone have problems with potato on maintance? About how many times a week do all of you have potatoes ? Thanks for any and all input

                  Re: Need some Maintenance Friends

I avoid them because they do spark cravings for me and there are so many other more flavorful starch veggies I like ..plantains, sweet potato ..even cassava that do not cause an issue...

once in a great while I will eat some home made French fries but not often and only a few because they are just like eating sugar to me and I will be searching the fridg shortly after if I am not careful ...

                    Re: Need some Maintenance Friends

Thanks Hedi, so far Ok no cravings but Oh boy sugar sets me off and I will scour the house for things to eat...I really don't miss potatoes that much at all and the corn on the cob the other day was sooo much tastier...I really wanted to try sweet potato but hated to spend the extra 2.50 so i will buy me a sweet potato and make it at home and I love plantains so I will keep my eye out for those.

Any other items you note cause you cravings?? I rarely eat any bread at all so far 1 sliced Aunt Millie's fiber for life light bread its 5.5 net carbs but I am leary of eating it very often...afaid of return of cravings

Thanks Hedi...but rockin now thats your body!!! Look at that tummy WOW...my lower tummy persists in its imitataion of a jelly roll.

DH surprised me yesterday and took me to Marshalls and I picked out some awesomely, sexy Roxy jeans size 7 juniors and a superly low cut sexy tank. Then we went to lunch and this guy was talking to his wife and looking at me and I heard him say uh, uh, mmm, uh...he totally lost his train of thought...while looking at me....SOOOOO COOL!!!!

I passed a full length mirror head on while walking at walmart late last night...still dressed in above mentioned super-sexy outfit and as I was walking toward this mirrior I noted a very beautiful sexy thin girl walking toward me....It was me and I really at first did not realize that I was looking at a reflection of myself....I am going back there today and walking by that exact spot and see if I can see that girl again!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely love your pic of your flat tummy and I am aspiring to do a tummy pic too someday...I need to start working out more first...LOL

By the way in the now pic in my signature right now it was taken at indiana beach an amusement park where my sis and I took a total of five kids and just us gals and I set up our pop-up camper...a old 1980's model...BY OURSELVES...and camped>>>>by ourselves...its like 90 degrees and about 90% humidity in the pic and I am tired and hot and a little frustrated but we did it...without any men-folk to help!!! Thus my funny smile!!!!

Becca, it's so nice to meet you! I'm so glad to see some maintenance activity!

Heidi, thanks so much for being here!!! You are a very special lady.

What do you think of cyclametes? I take it you get them in Canada? I'm looking in to some sweetener synergy again and am wondering if they are worth the trouble to get some to me? We are in MN, so we've got friends crossing the border frequently.

I've been around a bit, not as much in here as I'm still where I was when I started this thread. Which is FINE, I'm in no hurry I'm finding new thin places all the time too, shoe size changed, bone in wrist, need a belt on some pants, that kind of thing.

In a bit of an energy funk actually, and hope some fun summer stuff will pick me up soon here. Talk to you all

                              Hugs
                              Denise
What is it, a RACE? It's coming off, right????

                                Hey there Denise!!!

I like cyclamates (yes I go to Canada for them or recently a sweetie pie offered to send me some ) mixed with Splenda 1:1 and think they are worth the effort ..it is so stupid they are not sold in the US!

I tried the sugar alcohols and did not like them at all ..sorry Scott123 but mixing half Splenda and half Cyclamates and using far less than most recipes rec ...very good ..I tried a chocolate cake with fresh mint leaves in it (see under recipe requests) ..OMG Denise it was amazing!!! and in fruit crisps it just pops the fresh flavors out with out the overwhelming chemical flavor...

I have to thank Scott for my love of synergy!!! I am still trying the sugar alcohols but ... I really like the Splenda Cyclamate mix the best so far for baking!

energy comes and energy goes it is ok to take breaks and just enjoy life you know
