Dairy rung. You need to read the labels and the carb count because you can only add 5 net carbs of it. If you look through this forum, you'll find a thread on yogurt.

If you're on the Dairy Rung, Dannon makes a 'carb control' yogurt that is decent. 3 grams net carbs.

the absolute BEST yogurt deal is the Blue Bunny low carb kind... it's GREAT! and there's only 5 carbs in a 6 ounce cup...

the dannon kind is ok.. but it's too 'soupy' for me.... and it's only a 3 ounce cup I think... maybe 4...

but the Blue Bunny is AWESOME!!

I PROMISE... if anybody tries this Blue Bunny yogurt and doesn't like it.... let me know and I'll give you the money back!!!! (2 cup max)

I tried Atkins (WinnDixie) carries it here... and it was nasty..... kinda grainy... I couldn't eat more than a couple bites of ANY of the flavors..

I PROMISE!!! this Blue Bunny is so good, you'll swear you're eating regular flavored yogurt....

if it is available in your area... buy a couple of flavors... the vanilla is my fav...

I guess I'm just one of the lucky ones if nobody else has tried it..

I've been having Astro's Balkan Style Natural Yogurt - its 5.7g net carbs per 125g, so I usually reduce it to 100g, and its exactly 5g of net carbs. Its pretty delicious yogurt all around, and I've been enjoying it almost every day at breakfast.

                        Re: Yoghurt

I just went to the dairy rung this week (I've been on veggie rung a few weeks)

I bought the dannon low carb, and thought it was nasty. Then I bought plain unsweetened yogurt (17 carbs for a cup) and I use a hair less then 1/4 a cup and top it off with about a tablespoon of the raspberry dannon, stir the two together and it tastes good. As near as I can figure, that 1/4 cup serving I use is 4.25 carbs

Good thing, I've still dropped two pounds after having yogurt almost daily, so that's pretty exciting for me!

                          Re: Yoghurt

I like plain yogurt too because I can make my own flavors with it. Plus there are some recipes that use yogurt as marinades and sauces for meat, veggies and fish----you certainly can't use the flavored yogurt for that.

Be aware though, that if your flavored yogurt has ingredients that aren't allowed for your rung-stage then it's off limits until you get to that stage. For example, peach yogurt isn't acceptable until the other fruit rung of OWL.
