True that. And the price for 1/4 to 1/3 cup of the yogurt ain't worth it imo.

I don't have trouble finding plain yogurt...I have trouble finding plain, full fat yogurt, sometimes.

All this yogurt talk has almost talked me into trying some. I have never eaten yogurt - tried it a few times when I was younger and it always tasted to much like milk or something to me and I have never liked milk. I will have to see what is available around here and give it a shot. Thanks for all the info on it!

You're missing a trick with plain Yoghurt, Higgies.

Look for the full fat strained Greek Yoghurt. I have been told Total (Trademark) Greek Yoghurt is available in USA. Its great stuff.

Here in Germany I can't find it, but 10% fat yoghurt is easily available labelled either Greek or Turkish.

I sweeten it a little - say a teaspoon of splenda to 5oz (weight) yoghurt and add some high quality vanilla extract. I trouw a few berries on top.

Defrosted frozen berries will do. Or stir them still frozen into the yoghurt and wait for them to defrost - that's nearly ice cream!

Yeah, I love Greek yogurt...especially in sauces and dips. This is really the first time I'm ever having plain yogurt though. It is tough finding the full fat plain...weird...but like I said, I got the Dannon.

It didn't seem to affect me the other day, as I lost more of my water weight gained from the weekend

I had some more this morning with my breakfast. This time I mashed the raspberries up a bit more and also added half a packet of splenda and it was VERY good!

oh Labarum hit the jackpot!! Greek yogurt is somethign Id never heard of let alone eaten before Atkins. Talk about food of the gods! I love it as is. or with a lil bit of berries. or when I need a chocolate fix, a little dark cocoa with splenda (TOM craving fix right there!). or with a lil divinci syrup. *drool*

And the Trader Joes version is cheaper then *Total* by a dollar or more in the TJS I get to rarely.

Try a savoury delicacy from the Middle East - Tzatsiki

Mix garlic and cucumber into the thick yoghurt.

The supermarkets in my area are competing with the speciality markets like Trader Joes and Wegmans. One of the regular supermarkets carry Total Yogurt. It's kind of on the pricey side ($1.99 for an 8 oz container), but it is very good.
And it's very popular here. The store restocks it every Tuesday and it's sold out by Thursday.

Higgies, do you have StonyField in your area? They are an organic dairy producer and have full fat plain yogurt.
