  • Success on OWL. April results. Yippee!

After extended induction, I finally took the plunge and switched over to OWL at the end of March. I was losing at a rate of a little over three pounds per week during induction and knew that the weight loss would slow down, but that I would start really learning how to eat on ANA. I have been staying on each rung for three weeks and currently I am on rung two (dairy) and will be there for another week. Nuts here I come! My weight loss slowed to about 2 lbs per week so far and I believe that I will find my CCLL to be about 50-60 grams when all is said and done. So far, so good and feeling great!

Here are my stats for all of April, including my workout stats.

Total weight lost: 8.4 lbs in April (79.4 lbs since 8/14/06)
    Average daily caloric intake: 2,004
Average daily net carbohydrate intake: 28.53 grams
Average % of calories from fat: 60.17%
Average % of calories from carbohydrates: 11.22%
Average % of calories from protein: 28.61% (need to up that a little)
Total calories burned on cardio exercise: 13,468 (#1 out of 41 guys in age bracket)*
Average calories burned per day from ALL exercise: 511.83
Total weight lifted: 653,165 lbs. (#1 out of 41 guys in age bracket)*
FitPoints earned: 14,873 (#1 out of 41 guys in age bracket)*
Total # of cardio minutes: 1,308
Total # miles walked, biked, or swam: 143.25

*Our gym uses a FitLinxx system and logs each workout and compares it with all others in your age bracket. My bracket was 50-59.

Not too bad for an old fat dude, eh? LOL

Don, that's excellent progress! 2 lbs a week in OWL is FANTASTIC. I would imagine that even had you stayed on induction, your losses would have slowed to that rate anyway. Glad you are enjoying OWL and the variety it affords you.

Re: Success on OWL. April results. Yippee!

Julie, I really do love being on OWL. I love finding new foods to eat and the flexibility that it gives me. Also, I love your numbers. You are doing extremely well. Keep it up!

Thanks Apple! It is a pain to track everything, but well worth it! Easier to determine what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong!

Perfect 10 and Skinnymom, looks like we will all be climbing the ladder together. I wish you both great success.

Thanks Elizellen. FitLinxx has really been a big help in keeping me on track on my workouts. I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am. Congratulations too on all your success. You are really an inspiration!
