  • Seeking advice - is it time to move?

I know this has been asked a million times before, but every person's story is a bit different and I'm hoping for some specific advice.

I am currently on Day 2 of my third week of Induction and I'm really wanting to do this the right way this time. I've done Atkins in the past, and stayed on induction too long, which I really want to avoid. However, I still feel like my goal weight is a lifetime away and I really don't want to slow myself down too much.

Here is where I am... I started at 198 lbs and have dropped 8.5 lbs (189.5 currently). I'm planning to stay on Induction at least through the rest of the week and am hoping to hit a total loss of 10 lbs by the end of this week. My goal weight is 135 lbs which will be another 53 lbs from where I plan to be come Sunday. Is it okay to move to OWL or do I still have too much left to lose? I don't know how much weight people normally have left when they move on to the next phase and I wanted to be sure before I do anything.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

from what i have read, lots of people lose more weight in OWL than in Induction.
bodies tend to get used to the same foods/caloric intake and adapt pretty quickly. not only will it be good for you to add a bit of carbs and variety to your diet, but also to shake up your system and make it work a bit harder!! i have debated continuing induction for longer than 2 weeks as well as i'm having great success on it, but i know that the numbers on the scale will slow, and i want to eat some berries

Staying on Induction does not mean you will necessarily lose faster than if you go to the next rung(s). In fact, the added variety of the rungs may keep you on track since you won't get bored. I have found that I am actually losing faster on rungs three and four than I was on Induction (as long as I watch my blueberry intake, LOL). Don't be afraid to move up.

It's not about the results. Its about the process.
