    I am really thrilled with my results - I had stalled in mid February but now everything is fine again.
    I have only 4 lbs to go and my current situation is this.

    I am "theoretically" on rung 4 (I cannot eat nuts or fruit cos of pips etc and I never eat them normally) so I have upped carbs with veggies and dairy.

    I have been on OWL for 8 weeks now.

    My net carbs average 30. (On induction I was never over 15). Is this amount about right or should they be higher ?
    I really should avoid the alcohol rung :sadblinky I have had severe problems over the past 10 years with drinking and this diet has been a god send because it gave me the extra drive to finally give up.

    All advice most welcome

    You keep adding on 5 net carbs until you stop losing weight or inches. That's your CCLL. The CCLL is very unique to each Atkineer. One person might have a CCLL of 25, another might have a CCLL of 50. So we really can't tell you if 30 is right for you because it's a number you have to find on your own.

    As for alcohol, if you've had alcohol problems in the past, then by all means, skip the alcohol rung. In Atkins for Life, Dr. Atkins removed the alcohol rung from OWL because it was non-nutritive and he found some people were choosing to use their booze carbs instead of eating nutritive foods like fruits and veggies.

      Exactly Megs ..

      been there just a couple of times this month and I definately want to keep away. It is all too easy to slip back into a daily habit.
      Now I am so "obsessed" on counting everything .. I do not drink :joy .

      I will carry on then every 2 weeks adding 5 grams and see what happens!

        with only 4 pounds to go you should be moving from OWL to Premaintneance. It is about the same climbing the ladder to find your CCLL but now you add 10 net carbs of the foods to slow your weight loss even more. You will be looking at arriving at goal in about 6 months and having spend a good deal of time practicing your new healthier eating habbits and portion controls so you can maintain your weight loss forever!

        We never have to eat and rung we don't like or need to have for health reasons. they are only there in that order as a ranking based on blood sugar impacts so we can have the best chance to have mastered carving controls and damage minimizing before we encounter harder foods that will likely give them too us.

          This morning my weight has increased for no reason by 1.5 lbs (it is not TOM) but anyway I added strawberries - just a third of a cup so at least the berries rung is also "visited".

          I am a little afraid of upping carbs so much I really thought I would lose these pounds before the summer :sadblinky

          I think I am also a little low on calories even though I am eating a lot.
          I average 1000 / day and I know I should up that a bit as well.

          I will see how the next week goes.
