  • Organic Pumpkin vs Pumpkin Puree

    Hi all,

I want to make some pumpkin pancakes, but believe it or not I cannot find pumpking puree anywhere in my neighborhood or anybody else's for that matter. It is quite the popular item --out of stock in every store. However, I found some organic pumpkin in the can. Carb count 10, fiber 4 per 1/2 cup. Is it okay to use on OWL? I am on my 2nd week.

I also bought some Log Cabin sugar free syrup 8 grams per 1/4 cup. Is that a too high carb count? I probably won't use but a couple of tablespoons--don't like soggy pancakes.

any pumpkin that doesn't have added ingredients that are not legal for your phase is legal. Pumpkin is an induction other veggie.

Are those sugar alcohols as the carbs or is it got sugar in it?

Do tot he wet growing season their is a nationwide shortage of canned pumpkin until next yrs crop arrives so if you find some stock up.

You don't need syrup on pancakes ... honest.

      Try just having butter.

Also, the reason you can't find Libby's pumpkin is because the crop was "ruined" last year due to rain.

If it is just pumpkin with nothing added to it (look at the ingredient list) it is fine. Pumpkin is allowed. It is actually an induction veggie.
The syrup should not have much carbs - isn't it just sugar alcohol and artificial sweeteners with some thickener in it. Look at that label again and see it it lists sugar alcohol (those can be deducted) But if it is maltitol be careful. Can have impact on your tummy.

So what is your recipe for these pancakes? Sounds interesting
