I am just wondering what I should do about communion at church. I WILL still take communion, but should I scale down on my carbs that day to make up for it? Our communion basically is taking a small piece of bread and dipping it in Grape juice. My faith is important to me and my family, so not taking part in communion is not an option. Should I just save my 5 grams of carbs that Sunday? Or should I not worry about it because it is such a small amount?

Re: Communion at church
Don't worry about it. Just do your usual things. That is one of the things which there is a complete exception for.

Re: Communion at church
I have wondered this same exact thing!!!!! I never asked though because I didn't care to find out, seeing as I was gonna do it anyway. What I have been doing thus far is remembering to suck down lotsa water to offset. It's really only a taste of grape juice and a sliver of communion wafer/bread etc. It's not like a meal (although it fills up the spirit for sure) Don't even sweat it!
Best Wishes.....

Re: Communion at church
Georgiana wrote this about a year ago about communion and I really liked it:
Not accommodating your religious beliefs into your new lifestyle will do you more bad than having communion. Communion is not an excuse to cheat or to go on a binge. Quite the contrary -- it will give you more power to stay on track and to work towards a better health, both in a physical and in a spiritual sense.
