Or you could try eating different vegetables than the lettuce for a couple of days and see if that is causing it.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I'll stick with the lettuce...lol...the smell usually goes away (rather it is because a study states I can't smell it anymore or not) so I will just wait it out...I'm just not comfortable with adding other veggies right now, if lettuce does this to me can you imagine what...say...cabbage would do...lol.

here is a red meat body odor study so you can see just changing your protein sources can alter body odor smell.

cabbage has sulphur compounds in it that can cause some funky odor issue coming out the back end and if one eats enough it has some of the same chemicals asperagus does.

I'm just guessing, but it could be candida die-off. This too shall pass.

Re: Woke up with the smell

That's funny, I did Atkins 10 yrs ago and i would stink everywhere so bad. I eventually went off the diet because of it. This time i was waiting for the smell and it never happened. I haven't even noticed my breath being bad. I did eat allot of lettuce yrs ago and this time I'm not. I'm also eating more chicken then red meat. Who knows!?!

I did find if I took a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol and dabbed it in my arm pits before my deodorant it seems to help the smell. It also used to make me sweat more and the alcohol can stop the moisture which leads to the smell. But can sting if you just shaved. You can use witch hazel if your too sensitive but it doesn't work as well.

I've heard that white vinegar can work, too.

Re: Woke up with the smell

Here are some herbal remedies that might work for you.

Some people give off an unpleasant odor because of a deficiency of zinc. Low levels of zinc have been linked to excessive sweating, which can make the problem worse. Food sources of zinc includes seafood, steak, liver, chicken, oats and also some nuts and seeds. Pay attention to the OWL Rung you are on.

Add coriander, licorice (the herb, not the candy) or ginger to your diet. These herbs contain 20 chemicals with antibacterial action. Ginger has 17. Licorice contains up to 33% bacterial compounds. (Licorice and anise are not the same.)

Use tea tree oil as replacement to your deodorant. Mix 1 oz. of water with 3 drops of tea tree essential oil, with a cotton ball, apply this mixture to your underarms and, well, um, your crotch area - the hair, not the skin, because of the sweat glands there. Tea tree is an antibacterial herb, which kills the bacteria in sweat that causes body odor.

Sprinkle a generous amount (like 2 cups or more) of Epsom salt to a hot bath tub and stay there for 15 - 25 minutes. Rinse off in the shower, otherwise you can become dehydrated. Epsom salt helps the body eliminate toxins. Repeat daily for one week. Then reduce to once a week. Be sure to rinse off well and drink plenty of water, because Epsom salts can also have a laxative effect to some people. (Hmm, how do I know this?)

Re: Woke up with the smell

Ok since were talking "crotch area" coconut oil works great there too as well as the arm pits. Smells better then tea tree oil. i think tea tree oil smells like flea shampoo! I swear by coconut oil. I use it for/on everything!
