    Hi everyone!
I'm 4 days into OWL Rung 1 after doing just two weeks of induction. The first week of induction I lost about 7.5 pounds. The second week of induction (TOM), I gained 1.5 pounds and a week (the third week) later I still haven't lost that pound I gained or any more weight. My clothes don't feel any looser either. So, I've gone two weeks with a gain of 1.5 pounds. I thought moving on to OWL might restart the weightloss, but so far I've had no such luck. It seems to early to already have a stall. I've also had problems with constipation (I have IBS constipation) and take flax everyday and drink at least 16 cups of water a day.

    I'd appreciate any advice!
    Thanks!

This is what I ate yesterday...
    Cauliflower, raw
    2 cups

    Welcome to ADBB!

The most obvious thing in your menu is that you are undereating vegetables for OWL Rung 1. Two cups of cauliflower have 6.34 net carbs and 2 cups of iceberg lettuce have 2.58 net carbs. That's a total of 8.92 net carbs from vegetables.

When you move to OWL Rung 1, you should add 5 net carbs of vegetables to the amount of vegetables you have been eating during Induction... and you didn't eat only 3.92 net carbs of vegetables during Induction... unless you were not getting over half of your daily net carbs from Induction vegetables.

Often, people discover that the cleaner their menus are (mostly vegetables, very little or no sweetener, little cheese, etc.), the better their weight loss goes.

Right now, you are eating a lot of diary. Not everyone can handle almost 4 oz of cheese and 1 ounce of cream daily. Cheese can also constipate.

How many net carbs and calories have you been eating, on average?

I think I've been getting about 18 to 25. I definitely should try to get more veggies in. I do have a question though. On OWL 1, is there a limit on the higher carb veggies like there is on induction? Or can I eat spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, etc. for the 15 to 20 possible veggie carbs? I enjoy the heartier veggies a lot more.
Also, I am lucky to have a garden with tons of lettuce (for the moment), its not iceberg, its bibb and red. Does that make it any better/worse?

Iceberg lettuce has very little nutrition. Bibb and red would be far better nutritionally.

Yes, you can eat any of the Induction vegetables.

On OWL Rung 1, you're adding an extra 5 net carbs of those vegetables.

            Thanks, atkinsgal!
But do I still have to do the 2 cups salad veggies, 1 cup other veggies plus 5 carbs whatever veggie I want or can I do up to 25 carbs of whatever veggies I want?

Well, you need about 5-8 carbs from the 25 for other foods (eggs, cheese, mayonnaise, etc.), so the rest could certainly be Induction vegetables.

              My opinion.

Also maybe go careful on your cheese. I know it is allowed but not all people do well on it.

wee keep our induction 3 cups veggies limits and add to them 5 net carbs of any of the veggies on either list.

it is very normal to have what is called PISS afterthe initial weight loss on any diet plan. Check your inches and you should still be seeing inches of body fat being burned off even though the scales are not moving.

Flax is a soluble fiber so you will see scale weight being added by the flax fluid mass as it travels through your intestines. We who eat flax just have to accesp the falct we carry flax weight and it isn't body fat.

                    Re: Worried/Confused

What you need to do is work out how many net carbs you are getting from your 3 cups of induction veggies (2 cups of lettuce plus one cup of cauliflower) then add 5 net carbs of whichever induction-legal veg you want.
So going by yesterdays menu you had from your3 cups of induction level veggies about 5.75 net carbs plus 3.17 from the one extra cup of cauliflower, so you could have added another 1.83 net carbs of another induction veg, making a total of 10.75 net carbs from your veggies.

On OWL we don't just jump straight to 25 net carbs unless we were eating 20 net carbs on induction, we just add 5 net carbs to whatever average number of carbs we were eating on induction.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

congrats now put your scale away for a while and be sure to measure things like neck chest waist hips thigh, calf, bicep and wrist so you can see the inches of body fat you are burning off working your atkins even when that eivil scale doesn't validate your hard work.
