  • Skipping Rungs

    Hi to all :wave , I was wondering if it is ok to skip a rung in OWL Iam starting the berry rung today and the next run for me would be the alcohol rung and I have never drank in my life and don;t find alcohol pleasing so can I skip this one???

    Yes, you can skip rungs if you want, especially if you know you won't be adding anything from that rung into your diet again.

    I'm not a drinker but I use wine and sometimes hard liquor in my cooking. So I "did" the Alcohol rung by adding the alcohol if the recipe called for it.

      I skipped the alcohol rung and in Dr Atkins last book Atkins for Life he actually talked aboutr removing the alcohol rung because it has no nutritional value.

          That's true. In Atkins for Life, alcohol was removed from the OWL rungs because in addition to the non-nutritive quality of alcohol, Dr. Atkins noted that folks were spending their carbs for booze, instead of healthy things like fruit, veggies and grain.....
