I thought as you progress through OWL and then Pre-maint, the # of cals you eat goes down as the fats % are also reduced... so why would I need to exercise more? :confused
Sorry to confuse you...I do that a lot to people :no

Basically any "body weight" related exercises like walking will become easier as you get lighter. But you should notice already that you can go faster and longer. I'm just saying if you were able to do 2 miles in 30 minutes...soon you might be able to do 2 1/4 miles in the same time with the same effort.
But calorie wise you might burn the same since the 2 1/4 miles is at a lighter weight. As you lose weight your body gets a little more resistant to weight loss...so you might need to go 35, 40 minutes to get the same results.

Even tho my fat% has gone down...I don't think my calories have over the long run since now I eat a lot more carbs (low GI fruit, nuts, some high carb veggies like carrots/potato/corn occasionally)
It's not really a big issue...eventually you will hit a weight where everything is balanced and the amount you eat = the amount you burn and your weight stays fairly constant. That's called Maintenance! :icondance

It's just something I've learned the last couple years...that I need to workout more to maintain my weight than I did to lose it.

Ahhh... when you explain it like that, I get it! :yes

Yes, I do agree our bodies become more "resistant" to a particular exercise ie we get better at doing it, so the exercise becomes less effective.
I guess that's why I see a lot of suggestions on the net, to vary the type of exercises during the week ie don't go jogging EVERY day, but rather alternate with other activities like swimming, biking etc, to get different muscles moving on different days and not overuse the same muscles.

Thanks for bringing up that point Iap!
