  • fitday...revised my menu ie foods added

    OK..

    I think Im getting the hang of it I have added everything ie oils,herbs and tried using cups sizes, but for example the mushroom 1 small is 1 small mushroom, and 1 ring is 1 slice of pepper...

    But I am trying to use the cup measurments instead. I try to have about 1 and 1/2 of lettuce then the other 1/2 of cup is a mixture of salad greens ie cucumber sprouts...and the 1 cup f veg at dinner....

    Hope ive made sense Im slightly confused...lol also im sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bloated from drinking water i look very pregenant..oh dear...

    Hi chelsea you have done a good job of posting the menu

    A couple of quick comments . . . .

    did you really have one whole cup of cream??

    Are you still eating carrots and beetroots? They do not become 'legal' till the starchy vegetable rung of OWL - several months in the future for you, I am afraid!

      ooops was 1/2 cup in a soup 140ml...and no im not eating the carrots or beets.

          Do you know what is in the luncheon meat - can you check the list of ingredients against the allowed list for induction just ot make sure it is OK for induction?

          Both luncheon meat and bacon can have lot of sodium in them - too much salt can make you retain water so make sure you drink loads extra to make up for this!!

            I have been drinking between 3 and 4 litres a day I dont have the ingridiants as I bought them at lunch as they were on offer....!! luncheon meat was the closest on the list as i did'nty have the packet to add on myself...tiral and error I guess...

              Congratulations on drinking all your water and more

              Do you still have the packet so you can add the meat in as a custom food?

                no I had the packet at work :-( it was sainsbury's brand lite ham in the 4 individual portains I vaguely remember checking whats in it and must of thought it would be ok !! I shall remember next time though...

                  Just a quick comment from me. (I hope you dont mind).

                  You mentioned that it was Sainsburys brand lite ham. If you can try and avoid any foods with "lite" in them. As these are more often than not higher in carbs

                    It def had nearly zero carbs because that is the first thing i check out when I pick anything up now...lol...im just not sure on the rest of the stuff in it...

                      The only reason we recommend you measuring in cups is to keep track so you don't go over the 3 cup limit, that's all. If you measure the odd veggie as a piece or a ring, that's fine, just as long as you know where you are in your veggie count for the day.
                      Looks like you're doing good, Chelsea!...and tell your fella to make sure that coffee is decaf and drink more water or I'll have to shake my finger at him!!!

                          Sounds as if it was OK - but next time make sure you check for how much salt is in it!!

                              well he is trying...!! bless him he wanted to help out by making the lunches..so i went though with him how many cups of what etc...and he still managed to leave out half the stuff..!!! so I guess I will add more veg tonite
