    Tuesday I started OWL rung 1

    1 cup of 1/2 and 1/2 low caffine coffee about 10 oz w/1 ts heavy cream

    Breakfast-2egg omlett w/1slice of Am. Cheese, 1.5 oz canned ham cubed and 2 tbs of green onion fried in 1/2 pat of real butter 1/2 roma tomato.

    Snack- 2 5" celery stalks w 1oz cream cheese w/1.5 tbs bacon bits

    Lunch- pork chops Apprx 7.5 oz after cooking. Wasn't hungry for salad so i didn't eat one.

    Snack- 9 slices of turkey pepperoni w/ about 1/8 c cheddar cheese

    Dinner- 1/4 lb hamburger pattyw/ 1/8 c cheddar cheese w1/4 c french style green beans w.1/2 pat butter 1 c cauliflour potatoes w/1/2 c. sour cream about
    1/2 c green onions and another 1/4 c cheddar cheese.

    65% 6% 29% is the breakdown. Each day has been like this one pretty much . I hope you can view other days as well.

    your fitday shows you had 32 carbs today. when you start OWL you add 5 net carbs of rung 1 which is the veggies from induction. what did you add to your 3 cups of induction veggies that was the new 5 net carbs.


    Why did you have 1/2 cup of sour cream? you still have to follow the induction rules and the quantity limits from induction still apply.
    Did you do induction at 27 net carbs? if not why doid you have 32 today?

    I stongly urge you to reread your DANDR chapter 14 and the OWl stickies so you knowwhat you are doing.

      The sour cream was in the cauliflower dish I made for a side dish to go with the protein. ( prob. didn't have that much...more like 1/4 c) but put that much just to be on the safe side.
      I thought fiber could be subtracted at this point? Confused

      Okay, so that is something i'm not doing right.

      I added tomatoes as my new food.

      No, I was consuming between 17-21 carbs on induction. I wasn't subtracting fiber.

      From now on I will not count fiber. I think that is what's throwing me off.

        In DANDR 2002 (the book we give advice about here on ADBB) we are told to count 'net' carbs (total carbs less fibre) so carry on deducting them to get the net amounts.

        Lunch- pork chops Apprx 7.5 oz after cooking. Wasn't hungry for salad so i didn't eat one.
        Try to eat some salad before you eat all the meat next time !!
        Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

          Well i had read that part in the book and didn't during induction and wasn't real sure about OWL rung 1.

          If the truth was known I am having a bit of trouble fitting in all the food I should eat at the level of carbs I'm supposed to have. I have looked at all the fab recipes and most of the time don't have all the ingredience it takes.

          I'm trying to get all carbs in during salad intake and the fiber is killing me b/c i have to subtract it. LOL

          Thanks for all the advise.
