  • What is going on?:( HELP!!

    Alright, I've had it! I am not seeing results in lbs or inches and I'm getting frustrated. Here is my week long menu....Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I've stuck to induction for eight days and had lost up to five and gained 2 back. So in 8 days....4 lbs.....what is that? Pleeeeeease advice me, instruct me, HELP.....before I go nuts!

    Day 1: Brkfst: 1 Sausage, bottle of water, Lunch: Green Salad w/Italian dressing, 1 serving of cheese cubes(8 pieces),Dinner: Steak, green beans

    Day 2: Brkfst: Sausage, boiled egg, Lunch: Grilled chicken, green beans, green salad with ranch dressing, Dinner: 2 small steaks, 2-3 slices of cucumber.

    Day 3: 1 boiled egg(little Salt & Pepper), a few cheese cubes, Lunch: Filet Min'on steak, cheese Dinner: grilled chicken salad with ranch

    Day 4: breakfast: none(not hungry), lunch: beef and chicken fajita mix, pico de gallo, 2 bites of guac. Dinner: Grilled chiken breast

    Day 5: Breakfast: none(not hungry), Lunch: Slice of Turkey, Dinner: Monterey Chicken Breast, green beans, salad with vinegar and oil. A few bites of cool whip

    Day 6: Breakfast: none Lunch: Montery Chicken breast, green beans, salad with ranch, Dinner: 3 Slices of Turkey, cheese cubes, 1 serving of suger free jello with cool whip(yes it had aspertame)

    Day 7: B: 1 Sausage Lunch: Salad with ranch Dinner: 1/2 piece of steak, 1/2 piece of Chicken breast, grean beans with butter, a few pork rinds(just a few)

    Day 8: B: 2-3 pieces of bacon, 1/2 boiled egg Lunch: Small salad with oil and vinegar, piece of Chicken breast, 4-5 cheese cubes Dinner: Hamburger steak with grilled onions, salad with ranch, green beans, jello with cool whip(yes it did contain aspertame)

    There it is.....I know I should always eat breakfast, and I know I should avoid aspertame, but I'm eating only 1 serving. I only exercise about 2 times a week, but I should still be seeing results...right? Now I will patiently wait for experienced Atkineers to possibly tell me what I'm doing wrong. What should I cut out, add, or do? By the way, I only drink water. I don't drink as much as I should, but it's all I drink.(Maybe 1/2 of what I should)
    I don't want to give up. I am extremely motivated and have no desire to out and out cheat. This is the first time in a long time I'm committed to losing weight and now it's not budging. I'm desperate. Someone please help. In the meantime, I'll be reading the book again.

    Hey girl, while the overall menu looks pretty good to me, there are a few little things that stick out to me. And this is just for me personally, some of the other guys might be able to find other things. First, are you on induction? How many carbs where in the packet of fajita mix? How much sodium? I have to becareful of onions because for me, the sugar in onions makes me stall. I have also had to give up pork rinds, not because of the carbs but because of the sodium. Things with high sodium make me stall, that is why I am asking about the fajita mix and pork rinds. Make sure you are drinking your water to keep things flushed out. Trust me I KNOW how hard it is to keep up the with water thing. Aspertame is not a staller for me, but it might be for you, so you might want to watch that. Don't get discouraged, hang in there and it really will come off. You are doing great so far!

      I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

        What is that? 4lbs in 8 days?????? THAT IS GREAT! I don't know why you aern't thinking it is? you don't have a whole lot to lose and you aren't going to lose as much as someone who has 100+lbs to lose right off... be glad you have lost, and stay off of the scale and away from teh tape measure for a while. do your 14 day induction then see where you are...

          First off ..stop weighing yourself everyday..there WILL be fluctuations in your weight due to water and sodium. Weigh only once a week. Second, 4 lbs in the first week isn't that bad! Thirdly, are you counting your carbs and staying under 20 carbs per day? If not, i highly suggest it! Also, how many OUNCES of cheese are you eating per day? Make sure it is no more than 4 ozs in a day! Eat when you are hungry! Make sure you are eating enough fat. Plug all your food into fitday and make sure that your fat is atleast 65% daily! Good luck!

            are you getting enough veggies in??? a few days looked really scant on the veggies to me.
            get rid of the cool whip garbage. make your own whipped cream with heavy cream
            Drink more water 64 ounces is the minimum that anyone should consume, notnear what most of us Atkiners need to be drinking

              Make sure you measure everything!! Measure your veggies, your salad dressing, cheese, everything!! Get a fitday account, this will help you keep track of everything. Keep Pork Rinds to one cup a day (this is tough for me, I love those things!). DANDR says to stay away from aspertame, it can cause stalls. It will also help you a lot if you try to eat breakfast. Its the most important meal of the day! Try to get some veggies in at every meal to keep your blood sugar levels even. Hope this helps!

                I have to say I manage to eat quite a bit of cheese and my weight doesn't alter so I guess every1 is different, and I eat my brie with celery when I'm peckish and am the same or still losing (haven't weighed myself since the first time) but today I noticed another change as I studied myself scrutinously in the mirror - I kind of go "in" at the middle abdomen , JOY UPON JOY!! AND i'VE PROMISED MYSELF TO KNOCK THESE TEN 8-OZ GLASSFULS OF WATER BACK........... AND I DO EAT THE RIND OF THE PORK CHOPS WHICH I DOUSE IN A PAT OF BUTTER AND MUSTARD AND CREAM........ AND WHEN I'M REALLY PECKISH (THROUGH NERVES OR STH. SIMILAR) I HAVE MY BEEF CONSOMMÉ AT HAND AND SIP AWAY AT THAT......

                TREATS ARE A FEW STRAWBERRIES IN A SMALL GLASS WITH CREAM!!
                i LOVE THIS WAY OF LIFE AND AM ABLE TO BEND DOWN TO THE GROUND AND NOT EVEN HUFF OR PUFF, HA HA.........

                  Before you give up wait out the 14 days and here is something that might help you. Someone here gave me this and it has helped me not only keep track of my carb intake but also know what I am eating all the time because I hate writing it down.

                    you are doing fine weight loss isn't a linear thing, but you have some very unrealistic weight loss goals. I'm not sure where you got the idea you woukd lose weight so quickly on Atkins but to expect to shed 50% of your needed to lose weight in a month is very unrealistic looking at your weight loss goals. Dr Atkins says to take up to 6 months to shed just the kast 5-10 pounds and you expect to do that plus 5 more pounds in just over a month. During 14 day induction you can expect to lose 5-10% of the weight you need to lose which for you would be any where from 2.25 to 5.5 pounds for the full 14 days. you have already exceeded the minimum and are close to the upper amounts.

                    As to your scale fluctuations it can be anything from fecal mass in your bowels if they are running slower on Atkis to fluid weight as part of the way humans deal with shrinking fat cells and new to them exercise loads.

                    What are you doing for your exercise part of your Atkins?

                      4lbs in 8 days is great! I've had to learn that everyone loses differently. I've been doing induction for 3 weeks now and have only lost 3lbs, but it's 3lbs less than I was. Patience is a virtue. Good luck, it will happen.
