  • My first day...what do u think?

    I am a little worried because what happens if I get hungry tonight? I know when I did this before I went over on my carbs daily! Fitday is a real eye opener!

                2 hb eggs
                1 oz of cheese

                2 sb eggs
                3 sausage links

                Rotissere Chicken 8 oz
                2 cups of broccoli/cauliflower
                2 tblsp of butter

                with all this I have only 0 carbs left.....

                  Are you counting net carbs?? You must take the fiber out of the veggies, to give you your net carbs. For example, if you eat 1 cup asparagus, and it has 8 carbs and 2 fiber, you get 6 net carbs. Those are NOT the real counts just an example.
                  It also helps to get all three cups of veggies in. Some veggies are only 1 cup a day, and the others are 2 cups. It keeps your blood sugar level if you have veggies at every meal. Try some mushrooms with your breakfast, or salad with lunch.
                  Do you see in the chart on the top of fitday, by the pie graph?? Take the fiber out of the carbs, to get your net carbs. For me today, I had 27 total carbs, and 7 fiber, for 20 net carbs.
                  Keep up the good work, drink lots of water, and get a few more veggies in. You will do great and love how you look and feel!!

                      make sure you EAT if your hungry!! Dont be afraid of meat and eggs, eat as much as you need to! And definitely don't be afraid of fat!! Butter is your friend..lol

                        Take another look at the allowed foods list for induction to make it more clear in your mind as to which vegetables are on the 2-cup list and which on the 1-cup list, as you should only be eating one cup in total of broccoli and cauliflower at this stage of your Atkins WOE (another good reason to move onto OWL after induction if you like them!!).

                        As sunflowergrl said. try to spread your vegetables throughout the day, not have them all with one meal to keep your blood sugar level.

                        Have you checked the ingredients of the sausages too? some have starches as a filler, so you need to choose the ones that are basically all meat with only spices added.

                          I went back to view fitday and found that they dont show the fiber, why is that? What is the point of putting your food in if you cant get the fiber count?

                          I did not reduce the fiber from my total carbs, no wonder I am hungry this morning!
