As you have already read in my thread title, I want to do a clean induction. I am on day 5, and have been eating a similar menu each day since I began.
Breakfast - between 8:30-9:00 AM
2 large hard boiled eggs (chicken)
1 large cup of regular black coffee
- I know that coffee, and all caffeine, is considered a no-no on induction, but I read that its because of increased sugar cravings & not because it interferes with ketosis. Since I do not get cravings from coffee, and I need my one cup in the morning to function properly (for the time being), I decided not to cut it out. But please tell me if I need to in order to have a *clean* induction.
Lunch - between 12:00 - 1:00 PM
1 cup of mixed salad greens (lettuce & raw spinach leaves)
1 cup of mixed raw veggies (peppers, broccoli, mushrooms, onions)
1 grilled boneless chicken breast
1 - 2 table spoons of crumbled blue cheese (1 oz.?)
2 table spoons of olive oil
1 table spoon of balsamic vinegar.
- so basically I have a salad with diced up grilled chicken breast, a little blue cheese, and a drop of oil & vinegar dressing. I only drink water with my meals. - the cup of coffee in the morning being the only exception.
Dinner - 5:00-6:00 PM
Beef or chicken - usually as much as I want until I am no longer hungry - but never until I am stuffed.
1 cup of salad greens (lettuce)
1-2 table spoons of balsamic vinagrette dressing (made from olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and 4 seasons Itallian dressing (which has 2 carbs per serving)
-for dinner, usually I eat my salad portion with the dressing, and include as much meat as I need to satisfy my hunger. Usually its a little more than two servings (like two chicken breasts w/ skin, or 3 turkey/beef burgers, or a full steak & some nibbles off another steak. As before I only drink water with my meals.
I would say that I drink plenty of water all day long. Not only do I only drink mutliple glasses of water with my meals, but throughout the day I am constantly drinking water, and going to the bathroom. I would say I drink an average of 10 - 12 16 oz. glasses of water a day.
I also take a daily multi-vitamin - GNC Mega Man multi-vitamin, and Omega 3,6,& 9 essential fatty acids supplements (since i hate seafood, this is really the only way for me to make sure I get the nutrients my body needs)
I also walk briskly everyday before lunch for about a mile, some of which is uphill. Its by no means a hardcore workout, but I am coming off of a pretty non-active lifestyle, so its a good start for me. My heart rate is picked up, and I can feel it in my legs.
Oh...and I almost forgot. I started Induction this past monday, 6/5/06
I'm male, 5"6, 27 years old.
200 lbs. to start
160 lbs is my goal.
So....how am I doing?
