  • stalling problem/HELP

Every 10lbs my body stalls for a long time. LAST time it was for 2 months and now i am stuck on 145lbs. It makes me sad and depressed . I have another problem, I can't get into the habbit of exercise. I have promised myself many times and have tried to start an exercise program, but after couple of days i stop. I lose motivation after a while, and thats why i haven't lost inches. I was pant size 16 (185lbs) and now 12(145lbs). And i am 5'5........My body is slow at losing inches and that makes me depressed also.

    Any advice?words of wisdom? criticism?
    Please advice/help

Exercise is non-negotiable. Dr Atkins' words, not mine. Find something FUN to do. I like swimming with my niece, or playing basketball with my brother. I also LOVE step aerobics and weight lifting. It sucks to stop being lazy, but lack of exercise could be reponsible for some of your stalls.

You may want to be more realistic about your goal weight as well. Unless you are VERY small-boned, 115 pounds could be considered underweight for your height.
    It's now or never.

I agree that taking up some serious exercise will help you reshape your body so you are smaller even if at the same weight.

I didnt do any 'formal' exercise other than taking long walks fairly frequenbtly while I lost 140 pounds over 3 years but found I was losing very slowly for the last 6 months or so.

so I joined a gym in May and have gone there 3 times a week, working really hard with weights and cardio, and though I have lost very little weight since then I have definitely seen a 'shape-shift' taking place.

And once you have built up some muscle (think arm and leg 'definition') you will feel so much better as well as being able to burn those calories more efficiently.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Muscle weighs more than fat, true, but ALSO the more muscle you have and the more toned it is, the more efficient your metabolism is. In other words, someone who diets, gets skinny but has flabby muscles will have a much slower metabloism than someone who diets, exercises, uses weights and has TONED muscles.

Your resting metabolic rate will be higher.

as the NIKE commercial says just DO IT

Dr Atkins is very clear in chapter 15 of DANDR he says if you aren't exercising you aren't doing his plan so find something you like walking riding swimming sancing whatever and just do it. Join Jimmie 48's stair climbing challenge and walk up flights of stairs even. find something and do it after 2 weeks you will be hooked and loving it.

            Re: stalling problem/HELP

At 145 you may be at a "sticking point" , my body loves 150 and so it took forever it seems to move from 150-148 but from 144-136 flew quite quickly. Really the only thing I did differently is that I tried to eat fresh simple meals not as many great low carb cassaroles and not as much cheese as usual. And I am not sure that my weight going faster had anything at all to do with what I was eating as I think my body just decided to let go.
