    Re: Induction Menu in Iraq

for the record i don't cook my meals i choose what they have at the cafeteria.

the cheese are cheese slices you would find on a sandwich. the crumbled bacon in my omlette was 1-2 tablespoon. the peas was like 1/4 of a cup. deli slices ususally have 1-2 carbs at the most. you sure get all technical with trying to decipher a simple menu like mine that's for sure.

oh and if it doesn't seem like i'm following the induction rules, let's remember that i've already dropped 72lbs since august 2005. it's a guideline and lifestyle to me, i can break rules as i see fit because i have earned it. whats up with the whole booze thing? i've read your diet menus and i can name a few moments where you ate pretty crappy. too bad you feel guilty about eating regular food, that's just totally negative atittude. you should feel happy when you get to eat that type of stuff. don't tell me you never "ever" plan on trying non atkins food again? i would pull the B.S. card in a flash. having one meal of whatever i want isn't going to ruin my diet, 95% of the time is just like the menu i layed out.

oh and before i forget i do follow rules in the military, instead of me getting forced to get into shape by my peers it's the other way around since i'm the fitness instructor getting people into shape, even in Iraq. since you are no longer in the military why should i take your orders since they only apply to military personelle, you should know that.

A little light on the veggies, but looks pretty good. Peas are usually eaten while in OWL on the rungs due to the high carb count in such a small serving. Looks pretty good! I know nothing about flavored water, so that part I have no idea about!

      And...
Well, these aren't my rules, lol. If they were, they'd be a lot easier to follow! And yep, not perfect over here, and I've said that already, OHHH so many times! I have felt the kiss of death, and it's not fun, I took responsibility for it, cause it's MY butt that got bigger and there is no one else to blame. They teaching "hitting below the belt 101" in Iraq, or is it all the sensitivity training you get in the military? I can take it, along with all the other names I've been called behind my back because I'm overweight. Just call me fatty! My experience doesn't change what the Atkins diet is, or how it works, or what is legal and what isn't. Facts are facts.

You are right about one thing, time to move on! Darn it, I stayed up all night, my boss is just going to love the dark circles under my eyes! Doesn't it just pump you up, knowing that the rest of your life is ahead of, just waiting!? Good luck!

        Re: Induction Menu in Iraq

like i said miss, i'm sorry if i sounded rude but to be honest i'm really a kind person. i stand behind every positive thing that has happened in my life because of this diet, it made me the better person who i am today and i was able to keep my career by staying with Navy Weight standards. i've been through my fair share of name calling and laughing but not anymore. i don't like to stoop low enough to call a person fat or overweight because i would be like all those other people who treated me that way. i just got heated up because you didn't think it was healthy for me to eat whatever i want on my reward day. like i said, i worked really hard to lose this weight, i've experimented and found out that if i eat strict and reward myself one time i didn't see a delay or weight gain on my behalf as long as i went back on track the next meal and so forth. i live the induction lifestyle yet i reward myself once a week, theres nothing wrong with that since i'm not starting the diet. i'm so determined with losing weight that i'll do whatever it takes to get there this time around. my co-workers eat carbs all the time, heck i even bring them junk food from the chow hall like muffins and poptarts. whenever they ask me if i want a piece or a small bite i just refuse or say no and my will power is that much stronger. this reward day coming up is totally optional, i made that rule up. i could do away with it but since i feel like i've deserved it i'll stick with it. i believe that if other people were serious about losing weight on this atkins diet they would do away with all their weaknesses and give it 110%. i lost weight quickly because i followed the rules worked my butt off. remember, it's not just about the diet it's also the exercise and the change in the old lifestyle you lived.

green peas are not on list of acceptable vegies. I do not think those are reintroducted until rung 8?
Also...... as per Dr. Atkins...... doing a high carb meal is one of the misconceptions of Atkins. You are still feeding the carb/sugar monster and will never slay that monster. As you stated you feel off at one point. Why not do the plan (the entire plan) and build the foundation for a healthy lifestyle? This is not a diet, it is a way of life. It is all about behavioral changes and adapting a healthy lifestyle. Going off plan for even one meal can mess with Ketosis, your metabolism and insulin response.

            Re: Induction Menu in Iraq

to me it's a diet because i make it a diet, i already set my goals on how i will lose weight. let's just forget about the whole reward system that i made for myself, that's not important. i'm a young healthy male whole lives an active lifestyle. i just follow an induction style diet because it helps me lose weight. until i get to my goal weight of 145lbs i'll continue my lifestyle as it is. i know you can offer advice and all but no one can convince me of trying a different path. i'll take a different path once i reach my goal but not anytime soon. i don't have carb urges one bit, not like before. i can control my urges even when they are in front of me and people are enjoying it. like i said, my reward meal is something i came up with and it's the rule i made. i may not be following induction by the book but the point is i'm way past that stage since i've lost so much weight. all i can say on my behalf is that if what i'm doing works then i'm not complaining, it's my life is it not? i'm not referring to the reward section though i'm just referring to how my daily diet and lifestyle is like in general. with the reward meal i don't see any negative effects on me losing weight so i'm not worried about the whole ketosis and blood sugar levels. i haven't gained weight just to let you know so i must be doing something right in my life.
