      Hi Baarb

Just a quick question, do you use something like Fitday? It's useful to track your carbs (especially when you move onto OWL), and also I can't see how your are getting up to 60-80 carbs a day from those veggies in those amounts.

        Re: Is my menu ok?

        Hi Kay,

I did try using fitday a couple of times but I didn't get on with it. I think tanks because I wasn't measuring with cups but by weight at the time. That is also how I ended up over-estimating my carbs too - I assumed that the amount I was having (about4-6 cups over the induction amount) meant I was having 4-6 times the amount recommended in induction. But having looked closely at the numbers, that is not the case.

Now i measure everything and record all carb content in a notebook - htough I guess I could try fitday again to help with the maths.

        Thanks,

        Baarb

          Hi Baarb

I have to say once you get used to using Fitday, it is a very useful little tool - I use the on-line version, and I input everything, that way I keep a track of my carbs, my percentages and my calorie intake!

Baarb, if you click on the little arrow to the right of the 'cup' section of many foods in www.fitday.com you can select to use weights - ozs (ounces) or grams instead of cups.
You just need to be sure you are selecting the correct entry - raw or cooked, cooked with or without fat etc.
I usually measure raw and add any fats or oils as seperate items to get it as close as possible.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

              Thanks Elizellen,

It was the weights and the cooked or raw thing that was making it hard - so I'll try doing them raw then adding fats.
