    Re: Please check my menu

check the label on your fat free thousand island. fat free usually means more sugar of some kind.
you could have had 2 more oz. of cheese, also.

you should try to get a balance of things in during eat meal. maybe you could have had one cup of your lettuce with your hamburger with some crumbled cheese.

try not to skip those meals.
are you using fitday or one of the other sites to see how your carbs are working out for the day?

not too shaby. it looks like you could add 1 cup salad with your talapia and cauliflower.

did you check the label on the thousand island dressing? that was always my favorite and i haven't had it in over 3 years. i've gotten quite use to the Italian blends.

make sure you are getting all your water. that's so very important no matter what "diet" your on.

btw, i'm coming to your house for lundh and dinner tomorrow.

Hi...I just wanted to chime in and say that if you really love Thousand Island dressing, Waldens Farms has one with zero carbs. I think it's also zero fat, but if you really want Thousand Island that's probably the way to go, short of making it yoursef. I haven't tried it, but I saw it in the store the other day.

                Hi bombie!

I'll just ditto what Jimmie says... it's very important to spread your veggies throughout the day so as to avoid blood sugar spikes.

I keep hearing of this fish "Tilapia" that you get over there. Makes me curious as we don't have it here in Italy. I assume it's a kind of cod, right? (sorry... off topic, I know!)

Tilapia is the common name used for a variety of cichlid fishes of the genera Oreochromis, Sarotherodon, and Tilapia and is approximately equivalent to a taxonomic grouping known as the tilapiine cichlids. Tilapias inhabit a variety of fresh and, less commonly, brackish water habitats from shallow streams and ponds through to rivers, lakes, and estuaries. Most tilapias are omnivorous with a preference for soft aquatic vegetation and detritus. They have historically been of major importance in artisanal fishing in Africa and the Levant, and are of increasing importantance in aquaculture around the world. Where tilapia have been deliberately or accidentally introduced, they have frequently become problematic invasive species.

that's the wikipedia explanation. the jimmie explanation is "it's a tasty fish". this is the fish i would serve when i was doing the wed. night meals at church. i'd baked it with red, yellow and orange peppers and some olive oil brushed over it all.

                      Re: Please check my menu

get rid of that particular dressing, bombie. do you see now how labeling works now? usually when it's fat free, the product contains more carbs/sugars. i would take an educated guess and say the serving size is 2 tablespoons. i never used just 2 tablespoons.
you might find a low carb version. i know there are some out there but again, read those label.

the last posted menu: nothing really pops out at me as something in need of change.
the headache would be a sign of ketosis. it will pass, just stay the course.

good job on getting some walking in!

After you first asked me about the dressing I stoped useing it. hum how you have me thinking about the Italian one it has total carbs 3g, sugars 2g and sodium 480 mg. I hope this one will be ok. everything else listed has 0gs.

Well I am going to make the soup now I hope it's good
                        thank you again

if you look through the dressing on the store shelves, you'll probably find one that is even lower in carbs. you could also make you own. i am sure there are some recipes in the Food Forum.

label reading takes some time in the beginning but once you're an old hand at this, you get to know the products that are friendly and the process gets easier.

you are welcome! good job on the water, too, btw.
