  • Please look at my menu...

    Hey everyone. I just want to see if I'm doing ok. I've been feelig kinda bad for the last couple of days.... Maybe I'm missing something.

    B- 2oz sausage, 2 eggs and about 1/8 c shredded cheddar
    water

    l- tuna w/ 2tbls of mayo and a little dab of yellow mustard.
    a couple sticks of celery

    D- steak
    1 c broccoli
    side salad with tomatoes and cucumber with blue cheese dressing

    I drink about 100oz water a day, too.

    Looks good to me Teralyn (assuming the sausage has no nasty carby fillers)... the only thing I'd suggest is that you spread your three cups of veggies throughout the day more, so as to avoid blood sugar spikes.

      And you might want to eat a little more. I know you might be losing your apetite a little as that's a natural side effect of ketosis, but it's important to eat enough not to go into starvation mode. Otherwise, your food choices look great!

        You're not kidding about the loss of appitite!!! I have to force myself to eat now. It's CRAZY! Another weird thing is my disgust for sweet things. There's this new IHop commercial that has loads of syrup and butter nad cinnamon french toast and it makes my stomach turn. That is not a normal response from me. What a great thing!!!!!!

          Where do I look for those carb fillers? I checked the nutritional chart and it says that there's no carbs. Is that where I'm looking for fillers?? It's Jimmy Dean regular sausage roll. It's fresh and raw. Have you used it before?

          BTW... Do you know about the funny looks you get in the store when you are turning over every item to find out about carbs?? They think I'm nuts! But I'll be a skinny Nut!!

            To be honest Teralyn, I don't know how your sausages are labelled over there in the States. Someone else will surely be along soon to tell you. Over where I am all sausages are pure pork meat, with nothing at all added except salt and pepper.

              Tera, look for added sugars or starches in the list of ingredients. Nutritional labels can be marked 0g carbs if the amount per serving is under .5g. Labels can be marked <1g if the amount per serving is .5-.99g. Tricky, huh?!

              Usually fresh or stuff from the butcher/farm doesn't have fillers or sugars. Sometimes it's hard to find stuff without extra junk. So if you can, eat stuff that's fresh with no added carbs, if that's not possible, make sure you count the carbs in your daily totals.
