  • I don't see what i'm doing wrong?

    INDUCTION:

    Ok so this is a general work day menu (I eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch every day and I love it)

    Breakfast
    - 2 scrambled eggs
    - 1 piece of bacon (sometimes)

    Lunch (home made tuna salad)
    - 1 6oz can tuna in olive oil drained
    - 2 sticks celery diced
    - 0.5 cup alfalfa sprouts
    - quarter of a californian avocado
    - 2 tbs mayo (no sugar)
    - 0.5 tsp mustard
    pepper.

    Dinner
    - 1.5 cups cooked ground beef
    - 1 tbs onion and garlic (cooked with the beef)
    - 1 cup steamed broccoli
    - 1 tbs grated parmasan cheese

    I drink 2-3 litres (over 64 oz) water a day and I have two cups of decaf tea with half an ounce of heavy cream in each (all up one ounce)

    this menu generally comes to around 16-19 carbs and my percentages are correct according to fit day.

    Its basically eggs for brekkie, tuna salad for lunch, meat and veg for dinner.

    No caffiene, no diet soda, no fun

    Am i spot on or not? I'm not losing weight very easily (I work out 5 times a week but i dont have much weight left to lose). Also, don't tell me im making muscle - i've already taken that into account! The chub wont budge! Help? hehe thanks!

    Congrats on your cool losses so far and on such a good induction menu. Indeed, it looks great to me...but for induction. My advice would be that you move to OWL though, asap. You need to go through the rungs, find your critical carb level for losing (CCLL) and get to know how various foods affect you. That takes time and you only have 8 lbs of "time" before maintenance. You'll probably jump start the weight loss again in OWL. It happens to many, particularly on rung 1.

      Thanks! I'm just a bit worried because i tried rung one a while a go and found all weight loss stalled... however I was not exercising as much then so perhapse the combination of rung one and exercise will help.

      Do you know the actual reason why people sometimes lose more on rung 1....or is it just something that seems to happen? Thanks!

        I've read somewhere that the body once it has lost weight starts to kind of panic about the rest and hold onto it - once you eat more it is assured you aren't starving and so relaxes about it. That is an extremely unscientific explanation - apologies, but that's how I understand it.

        Hope it works out for you moving to OWL - I agree with Sally that you should try it.

          I understand what you are saying...but i eat 3 square meals a day. I probably eat more than i need to be satisfied (i should work on that ) but i can assure you i'm not in starvation mode!!!! I'll definately look into this though...what a strange phenomenon!

            I agree with Alexa's "unscientific" explanation (sounds perfectly scientific to me!! ) and would offer my unscientific one too: On rung one you eat more veggies, so more fibre. Fibre "gets things moving" and there's faster digestion so more... ummmm... elimination... and hence less absorbtion and weight. How's that for unscientific??!! (but hope you see what I'm getting at)

              Ahh i see.... well that wont do anything for me then. I've been chronically consitpated for years and years no matter how much fiber I eat. Laxatives dont work, nothing helps so i dont think rung ones going to help me at all if thats the reason. Oh well!
