Hi folks
I am doing Atkins again. I had to stop because I was suffering from post natal depression and when I stopped taking the pills for that, I turned to chocolate.
I have not put on loads of weight but I got to the point where even my fat clothes didn't fit anymore. I knew I needed to diet again and so I turned to my favourite - Atkins. I am not loosing as much as I thought I would and wondered if you guys might mind having a look at what I'm eating please?
I am 5ft5 tall and weighed 11stone11oz when I started induction 3 weeks ago. I am now 11stone7oz but yesterday I was only 11stone 6! I am still in the induction phase.
On a usual day:-
Breakfast
Mug of mint tea, 0.3g carb per 100ml I must be having approx 150ml
3 scrambled eggs + 3 rashers of bacon (I but this from the shop so I don't know anything about the bacon but I don't think it's sugar cured)
2 tablets psyllium husks, 1 multivitamin with cod liver oil, 2 tablets with Magnesium, Calcium and Potasium
Snack
Cheese (I know I am supposed to only have 3-4oz - that's not a lot really is it <sad>)
Some days I might have some pork crackling but I have discovered that some brands have carb content! I also alsked my Mum to bring me some beef jerky home from her visit to the states but even that had added sugar!
Lunch
50g salad leaves, including spinach, red chard, rocket
1 tbsp Salad Dressing - Pizza Express dressing which contains 4g carbs per 100ml
Mattessons sausage (which has no carbs and they taste great!)
Tea
Chicken with paprika, lemon and garlic (homemade, paprika has no added sugar and I only use 1 clove of garlic)
Green beans with a knob of butter
Sometimes I might have another cup of mint tea later.
One meal we have is chicken with 5 spice (no added sugar) and soy sauce but I don't know whether soy sauce is allowed on induction?
I also drink at least 2 litres of water a day.
I know that I am probably not eating enough veggies but I find it really difficult to eat them. I was never one for eating them before I found Atkins and I am doing so well getting the amount that I do into my diet. Since I don't eat a huge amount of fats and protein (although in the correct ratio - I hope) I can eat less veggies as part of the total ratio of what I am putting into my body.
